Red Lobster Demonstration--Lakewood,CA
When? Saturday, January 28th, from 12:00- 2 p.m.
Where? Red Lobster, 4333 Candlewood St., Lakewood, CA 90712
(Across the street from the Lakewood mall.)
Why? Red Lobster still refuses to stop buying Canadian Seafood, which means
they still support baby seal clubbers!
For more information on the harp seal slaughter, please visit: www
harpseals.org, www.protectseals.org and www.seashepherd.org;
All signs and flyers will be provided.
Please help us convince Red Lobster and their patrons to join the Canadian Seafood Boycott! Why boycott Canadian seafood? Canadian fishermen are slaughtering hundreds of thousands of baby harp seals each year for their fur. 42% of these precious creatures were found to have been skinned while still alive! The fishing industry gives the fishermen 95% of their income, while the seal slaughter gives them roughly 5%. Moreover, Canada's seafood exports are worth billions, whereas seal pelts bring in a paltry $16 million. If we can adversely affect the profits of their fishing industry, the Canadian government (who supports and subsidizes the hunt) will have no choice but to call for a stop to this senseless, cruel, and inhumane seal massacre!
Many, many restaurants have joined the Canadian Seafood Boycott, yet Red Lobster still refuses. Since they are the number one U.S. purchaser of Canadian seafood, we believe they hold the key to ending the harp seal slaughter. We hope you can find the time to lend your voice for the voiceless this Saturday! We must let Red Lobster know that their lack of compassion will not be tolerated!
