Killing Torture

At the time the School of the Americas, now renamed to an alphabet soup weasel name, Something about Hemispherical Cooperation, where we gather by the thousands to shout it into another hidden corner of the world with a new name (?), and we hear in the news, stories of deaths at British hands now revealed to have died while being drilled with work tools, we must, after even more examples of publicized use of official torture, inspect observe and most of all contemplate like humans, the concept of torture.

We wonder how it is, like some vermiform organ that flames into acute malignancy to become a normal life phenomena for the majority, that in the very presence of this kind of evil should not oneself be physically ill, if one is indeed human. How do the minds accept this abomination?

Then I remember the pictures of blacks hung from trees in chains, horribly rendered, gone from their loved ones in a passage through hell. Sometimes with a group of happy white folk gathered ‘round for a souvenir photo.

I have my suspicions that sadomasochism is a deliberately cultivated aspect of our ‘western’ society . Take a look around people, it’s everywhere; from the manufacturing of humiliation, endemic in our consumer society to the ‘worlds most crulest videos’ shows and other humiliation trays offered as entertainment. Why do we buy it?
