Racism has become more visible over the last events that have ocurred in the United States. One of those events was Katrina Hurricane were New Orleans was hit the most. New Orleans is a state where the poor and the most vulnerable suffered the most by the disastrous hurricane. One of the problems that the people were able to see was the inadequate reaction the goverment took to aid the poor and affected people of New Orleans.
What happened in New Orleans? What took so long to help out this people in times of need. The Afro-Americans were ignored by the U.S goverment. They were left for 5 days in top of their roofs. Not only that but they were even negatively portrayed by the media. One of the things that I noticed was that the Afro- Americans were viewed by the American media as "looters" Just because they were breaking into the stores to get food. In contrast to the Euro-Americans they were just looking for food when they were doing the same thing that Afro-American people were doing.
We can see with this event that racism still exists. The President of the United States would never leave white folks in top of their roofs for 5 days. Never because this would be unethical. But it is ok to leave Afro-Americans.
Bush is a criminal and needs to be impeached of office he does not deserve to be called the President. He is the most inhumane president that ever existed in the U.S.
