British MP George Galloway to Speak in Los Angeles

British MP George Galloway will speak in Los Angeles, September 22 to Demand Money for Hurricane Relief, Not War in Iraq

Anti-war activists and members of the Arab community, including Michel Shehadeh of the LA 8, and host of Uprising Radio, Sonali Kolhatkar will join British MP George Galloway at Immanuel Presbyterian Church at 7pm on Thursday, September 22 in Los Angeles to demand money and resources for hurricane relief, not war. This event will accept donations to be sent to New Orleans with a delegation from the Campus Anti-War Network.

Galloway has already spoken to thousands of people in various cities including Boston, New York, Toronto, Madison, Chicago, Seattle, and San Francisco. He will also be speaking in Washington, D.C on September 24th along with other anti-war voices.

Galloway blasted President Bush’s response to Hurricane Katrina, saying:

“The scenes from the stricken city almost defy belief. Many, many thousands of people left to die in what is the richest, most powerful country on earth.

In the most terrible way imaginable they show to the whole world that it is not only the lives of people in Baghdad, Fallujah and Palestine that Bush holds cheap. It is also his own citizens — the black and poor people left behind with no food, water or shelter.”

George Galloway is Respect party MP for Bethnal Green and Bow in East London. CNN's Wolf Blitzer described Galloway's May 17 speech at the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations as "a blistering attack on US senators rarely heard" in Washington.

Mr. Galloway appeared on CSPAN three times this past weekend in the re-broadcast of his debate in New York City on Wednesday, September 14th with Christopher Hitchens. Go to www.MrGallowayGoesToWashington.com for details.

National Tour sponsored by: The New Press, International Socialist Review, Center for Economic Research and Social Change, the National Council of Arab Americans
