11th annual Eco Maya Festival

Sat. April 23 & Sun. April 24, 2005        10 am - 7 pm   11th annual Eco Maya Festival       at L.A. Eco-Village   FREE ADMISSION          Celebrating our culture and protecting our Mother Earth,               Connecting the Environment, Culture and Heritage


A variety of Mayan food, music, dance, arts and crafts, folk life, story telling, kids attractions, food and ECO-exhibitors, plus booths and displays. See <http://www.ecomayafestival.com/> for history and updates. 

The ECO Maya Festival is recognized throughout Southern California. This environmental hemispheric arts event connects the indigenous cultural heritage of the Americas, with the urban mecca of diversity. We invite you to join in the celebration of Latino environmental stewardship, family, humanity and world peace. 

Main stage performances by Francisco Aguabella Afrocuba Ensemble,  j Tikonrl'ab ceremonial dances, Cuauhtemoc Mexica Dancers, Ajpop Tecun Mayan Dancers, Midnight Theater, El Vuh Hip Hop(mexica spitituality), Kema (folk-jazz), Upground (cumbia, SkaEast LA flavor), Fitter (Latin Rock) and more music, performances, The Storytelling Ecological Park presenting Bimini and Mayan memories. 

ECO Maya Festival 2005 is sponsored in part by a grant from the Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department.  "Francisco Aguabella concert is sponsored by the Los Angeles County Arts Commission and the Recording Industries Music Performance Fund through the assistance of the Professional Musicians Union Local 47. The Music Performance Fund is supported by retail music royalties, which have suffered from the effects of illegal internet downloading.
