“Looking For Harvey Weinstein" the little pink expose has put the cat amongst the pigeons according to industry insider and tabloid journalist Al Bowman. CNN producer, Mercedes Torres swapped sides and abruptly severed all media for the controversial publication after an initial endorsement from Larry King. Many other powerful people who feature in the 250 page expose, are non too happy with the English writers, Shirley and Holly Yanez.
Surprisingly the one person expected to cause a stink, Mr. Harvey Weinstein appears to have no problem with the book bearing his name, purchased through a representative at the Cannes Film Festival last May. There has been no official comment from the Miramax mogul who the authors pursued for three years to find patronage for the modern day Michelangelo. Perhaps the much younger looking Weinstein seen at the Golden Globes has taken heed from the text that chews up Hollywood and leaves it splattered, the book’s morality, cleverly guised in outrageous loose lipped satirical comedy. A much happier Weinstein of late after troubles with Walt Disney over distribution of Michael Moore’s, Farenheit 9/11 is stepping out with British starlet Georgina Chapman, a true English rose, twenty four years his junior.
"Maybe that's why Harvey hasn't killed us. He digs the English thing." said Shirley Yanez.
"More like he has to marry a Brit to use his title from the queen, Sir Harvey and we're too old." was Holly 's reply.
As the middle aged rock and roll anarchists reinvent themselves as the nouvelle Hollywood agents, Veracity Management, they boldly go, yet again, around the outside and bring the next U2, Cry Out to the market. Look out for the sequel, the music business? A business that clearly, has no business being in business.
