ADL calls on CIA to hand over files on suspected Nazis

Responding to reports that the Central Intelligence Agency has balked at Congressional requests to hand over secret files on Nazi war criminals, the Anti-Defamation League has called on the CIA to publicize all records relating to the agency's post-war recruitment of suspected Nazis.









"Sixty years after the end of the war, the time has come to make this information available," ADL National Director Abraham Foxman said in a statement released on Tuesday.

"With the number of survivors and witnesses diminishing by the day, and the reality that the Holocaust is fading into the pages of history and memory, we should not have to wait any longer," Foxman said.

The ADL issued the statement in reaction to a report in The New York Times this week detailing the difficulty Congressional investigators are experiencing in forcing the CIA to declassify documents relating to their recruitment of former Nazis, as they are required to do by the Nazi War Crimes Disclosure Act, which was passed by Congress in 1998.

The agency has already released more than 1.2 million pages of documents, however intelligence officials are quoted by the Times as saying that the law does not require them to disclose all information relating to the agency's relationships with former Nazis.

"What's so puzzling about this is the agency has already released a significant number of documents," Foxman said. "Why the change of heart now not to finish the process? What is there still left that some feel needs to be hidden? The expediency and the errors of the past are not a reflection of the intelligence community today."

"One finds it difficult to understand why the leadership today is protecting the truth," Foxman said.

This will never be the task of the CIA. Lies are the air they breath and the only ones who are protected are the corporate rights to murder rape and torture for the profits of Wall Street.

Don't ever forget that the CIA was conceived allegedly to prevent 'another Pearl Harbor'.

If there are any Nazis left -- which I am sure there are, since, at the end of the war the whole damned county was Nazi -- these people most certainly must be on their last legs. They'll get theirs in hell. Who cares.

Henry Kissinger is a German-Jewish refugee from the Holocaust. He came to this country in 1938 at age 15. HItler took power in 1933. Kissinger was born in 1923. Some people manage to learn English without much or any German accent when they come here as children (although 15 is already very literate and not much of a child in terms of language); some do not. The Jewish people of Germany (likewise all other countries, including the US) were as German as any Germans. This writer's mother is also a refugee from Nazi Germany. This writer is as American as all Americans, despite being of Jewish descent (and an atheist). That does not mean my politics are as reactionary as most Americans; it simply describes my nationality.

Since Kissinger was born in 1923, he was 20 in 1943 when he was drafted. He served as an interpreter in counter-intelligence. This was common among many Jewish soldiers who knew German; it did not necessarily have anything to do with their politics.

The CIA brought Nazis to this country to promote its war on communism, that is to say, to promote the profits of the US capitalist class. This is not news. Many books have been written on the subject. The CIA is most likely protecting Bush and friends. After all, Pres Bush's grandfather was a known Nazi collaborator.

As to Kissinger's politics, they are typical of his class and the class he served, the capitalist class, which only cares about maximization of profit. There are lots of reactionary Jews: All Zionist organizations are by definition reactionary. Major Jewish organizations supported the murder of the Rosenbergs and the entire anti-Communist witchhunt of the 1950s. The upper middle class German Jews, just like upper middle class Americans of any religion, were just as anti-communist as upper middle class Germans who were not Jewish. It is a matter of class as opposing communism was part of defending capitalism.

The fact that the Zionist ADL is involved in this inquiry is a cover they all use for their loyalty to the capitalist class and its agenda of anti-communism, better known as smashing all labor movements.

The fact tthat WW2 was 60 years ago is irrelevant The horrors perpetrated by the Nazis will last forever, and the same is true for its political heir, Nazi USA.
