The Far right has co-opted King day

by :-( Friday, Jan. 21, 2005 at 6:53 AM

Next year those who truly understand the message of King will be having their own parade some where else, without any military or racist police in the ranks!

Kingdom Day Parade:

The Council on Racial Equality (CORE) sponsors a parade in honor of Martin Luther King each January which travels the two-mile distance from Martin Luther King Boulevard near Crenshaw to Western.

Sadly CORE is no longer what it once was. It is now a far right front group. Last year they had laura bush at their event in NYC and this year they had karl rove!

See this link for more on this:

http://nyc.indymedia.org/feature/display/139021/index.php

Call CORE at (323) 299-1234 to register your anger.

In light of the politics of Thomas, Rice and Powell it seems that people can be racist against their own race.

instant sellout, just add water

This is sad.

Black Power for Roy Innis and his friends, and what-evah to the global Black movement.

It's not that different than the deal that the capitalists cut with the working class in the post ww2-era. The working class were given the scraps from the rebuilding/taking of Germany and Japan, and they gave up their communist leanings.

If you want to see something similar, look up AIM - the olde American Indian Movement. They're down the same path, though not so far.

(There's a countervailing AIM force called Autonomous AIM, as well.)
