Over 200 protestors sang through the hallways and walkways of UC-Riverside this week chanting "Si Se Puede!" and "UC workers under attack! what do we do--FIGHT BACK!".
The rally was in support of the contract negotiations taking place simultaneous to the rally. The group ultimately marched outside the negotiations door to make their presence loud and known that "we will not be screwed over again!".
AFSCME Local 3299 is comprised largely of the lowest paid predominately people of color workers in the UC systems, who have the hardest physical labor, and of course, the lowest wage.
