Light Armored Vehicles, used for recon and quick tactical operations. Think Armored Cars, these aren't "tanks".
The protest was close to a VA center. The LAV were on the way to the VA center for a Veteran's Day/ Marine Corps Birthday event.

That's interesting, vet.
But why did they circle the block twice, instead of going to teh party?
I'm assuming there's a reason they'd be driving Light Armored Vehicles to a party. What do you do with them at the party? is it like an exhibition show?

99% of the voters voted for candidates who reload the Zionist crusader's guns as fast as the ZIonists can unload them into palestinians. When the tanks driving down LA streets, are joined by armorred bulldozers smashing your homes as attack helicopters gun you down, you know, like the future that 99% of the voters (YOU) democraticly decided to support as the fait of the Palestinians, THEN you can complain without looking like a piece of shit.
Like when wildfires were destorying homes in San Diago, i pointed out to them how thier taxes were being used to destroy a similar number of Palestinian homes, and more than wildfires in Ca, the people inside. Now, you have tanks driving down your streets. WOW! And what you decided as the fait of palestinians is a thousand times worse. get your heads out of your asses.

They are called "Static Display". At Military events, they will set up some of the gear, with the crew that operates it, to explain how it is used. From Michael Moore's website, apparently these guys got lost on the way up there and couldn't find the address they were supposed to show up at. They circled the block trying to find the right address.
Has no one else here ever had to circle around trying to find an address when they're visiting someplace for the first time?
The guys got lost, get over it.

It was dark. It was November 9th, not November 11th. Military vehicles are usually transported to events such as that, not driven through the streets. Has anyone, who lives in that area, checked to see if there actually was an event that night?
I think it was intimidation, pure and simple.

Here is the link to a pdf file that shows the Veteran's events statewide that week. I don't see any for that location. If anyone else has a link showing that there was a Veteran's event in the area of the peace demonstration on November 9, I would sure like to see it.

After further research, I see that there was a Veteran's Day parade in the same area (Wilshire Blvd.) the next day. However, that doesn't really explain why the personnel vehicles were there at the protest. They didn't have to return and stop. If I were a Marine asking for directions, I certainly wouldn't stop and ask directions at an anti-war rally.
According to a poster in the other section, who identified himself as Bill McAndrews, they were ordered to stop in front of the protestors. We really need a satisfactory explanation.

You mean they guys driving tried to show up early, so they could make sure everything was prepared, go thru a rehersal and coordinate with event planners the next day and make sure they got a good night sleep before going to their celebration?
Those bastards.
And with an LAV, if the engine works, you drive it. It would take more time, gas, men and equipment to load in on a flat bed just to drive it up to Los Angeles.
