Call For Videos/Guerilla Video: Progressive World News is producing a new television news show (Open 4 Debate), which looks at the world through a progressive lens. Our weekly, hour-long news show will examine in-depth, topics the mainstream media ignores, and will get at the truth. Think of it as the Nation and Mother Jones on television.

We are asking videographers and filmmakers around the world, to send us digital video footage of events they think are important. Be it footage of protests, the war in Iraq, any conflict in the world, human-interest pieces, environmental, investigative reporting footage, shocking or relaxed. Life in Bosnia, police brutality in Miami, genocide in Sudan, privatization of water in Bolivia, sweatshops in Mexico, whatever needs to be exposed. Each show, we will air a piece that we receive in a segment called “Guerilla Video.” We will credit the author, tell the story behind it, and interview whoever shot the piece. Each piece should be under five minutes, although if we get a really fantastic piece that is longer, we may choose to do an in-depth (15 minute) story on it.

Send your digital video, the story that goes with it, and how to get in touch with you. Send along a statement authorizing us to air the piece. We will return un-used video tapes to you. You wanted a place to be heard and seen, well here it is. We shoot the pilot in December and begin airing the show in March 2005.
