by Dissent Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004 at 4:16 AM

Showing of the documentary "The End of Suburbia" and Green Party Presidential Candidate David Cobb Speaking at the Regenerative Co-operative of Pomona.

The Regenerative Co-operative of Pomona will be hosting Green Party presidential candidate David Cobb on Saturday October 30th at 3:00 in the afternoon. There will be a screening at 1:00 before Mr. Cobb speaks of “The End of Suburbia”. This is a documentary on the problems the world faces as we approach and surpass peak oil production and the decline of this energy resource in a world that continues to demand greater and greater supplies of oil. Mr. Cobb will speak from 3:00 to 5:00 and answer questions pertaining to his bid for the Presidency of the United States, the need for a more sustainable approach to handling problems with the environment and social justice, and why the Green Party platform is a viable platform to move the country in a more sustainable and equitable direction. This event is free and open to all people. For more information, please call (909) 623-6799 or visit online at www.regen.org.

The Regenerative Co-operative of Pomona is an intentional community that seeks to establish, develop, and maintain viable, community-friendly, environmentally-oriented shared-housing. We understand environmentalism to include the pursuit of ecological, economic, racial, gender, and social justice. Our communal housing and activities are an attempt to bring about progressive/radical change in society by having some of our theories put into everyday living practice.

If you would like to know more about the Regenerative Co-operative or this event which can not be answered through the above contact information, please e-mail RegenPomona@gmail.com
