Ex-Taliban Lobbyist leads Afghan vote

by DLi Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004 at 12:21 PM

In the much-publicized Afghan presidential "election" of October 8, the leading candidate is none other than U.S.-appointed Hamid Karzai, who was the Taliban's lobbyist to Washington during the mid-1990's, when America was still trying to woo the Kabul regime because of its pipeline potential.

Hamid Karzai, known popularly as the 'Mayor of Kabul'(because while traveling with an armed squad of U.S. mercenary body guards, hardly ventures out of the capital Kabul in fear of assassination attempts by his many opponents, ranging from the numerous warlords holding vast areas of Afghanistan under their personal fiefdoms to indigenous resistance fighters who see Karzai as the stooge of the U.S. Occupation forces) is reportedly leading in the vote count.

But the Western media do not report the widespread voting irregularities such as the open selling of voter registration cards, or the fact that more 'voters' have registered than the total number of eligible voters, or even the multiple voting on the very day of the 'election' 10 days ago. This is perhaps the showcase example of a "fair & democratic election" that only a Florida election official would be proud of.

Or the fact that the real candidate of the Afghan election is not the 17 token Afghans but the USA's George Bush, who desperately needs an "election victory" as a blatant PR stunt to sway American voters back home, by reminding them that Boy George is indeed bringing "freedom and democracy" to the devastated Central Asian nation. Never mind that it was the carpet bombing terrorists from America who bombed the Afghan nation back to the Stone Age (for the second time, because during the 1980s, both Democratic & Republican admnistrations gave $2Billions of arms to Usama bin Laden & his band of fundamentalists to bombard Kabul & other cities in the first 'Stone Age' campaign.)

So, if the U.S. media announces next week--just conveniently a few days before the U.S. presidential election--that Hamid Karzai has won, you'll know that King George will be the real 'winner' in the campaign to swindle both electorates.
