The Salvation Army in Santa Monica, California is now actively attempting to destroy the lives that it is their stated mission to assist.
A homeless woman approached Willie Brown, Social Worker at the Salvation Army office on 4th Street in downtown Santa Monica, in need of a three-day emergency bed at the Salvation Army-run shelter at 505 W. Olympic Blvd. She had a non-terminal medical condition which required a daily two hour self-treatment, which she could not perform living on the street.
Brown informed her there were no beds available, although residents of the shelter reported two emergency beds open at that time. She ascertained that by visiting the shelter herself.
The woman, a college graduate with no police record, re-contacted Brown, who said, "There is nothing I can do." In reality, the referral for the bed needs to come from Willie Brown.
She then spoke to Tony Briggs, Operations Manager at the shelter who walked away mumbling, "Beds? What beds?"
Briggs had an unfortunate involvement last year with the same woman. She had been staying at the Cold Weather Shelter at the Veterans Administration when several hundred dollars was stolen from her bag. She had observed the theft, and requested Briggs, who was on staff at that location at the time, to call the police. He assured her he would do so.
When the police had not arrived several hours later, she approached Briggs again, who chuckled, "I didn't call them and they won't be here." The woman could have recovered her money if the authorities had been contacted immediately, as the thief was still at the shelter. Brigg's duplicity assured that no recovery would be possible of the only money the woman possessed.
Unfortunately, the actions of the Salvation Army staff have now stepped into the incredible.
Several homeless people have been hospitalized from food poisoning. In one instance, a 53 year-old woman went into convulsions, resulting in the paramedics being called and a hospitalization. The other individual sharing that portion with her, prepared at the shelter location, only experienced an acute attack of vomiting.
At another homeless service agency, Daybreak, at 1616 Ocean in Santa Monica, Marta Sanchez, age 48, incurred a stroke after drinking toxic punch. Realizing she was becoming ill, Sanchez asked if she could use the phone to call the paramedics. Daybreak employee Tina Hill refused. Sanchez then requested a bus token so that she could go to the emergency room. Hill also refused her a token.
In the midst of what was later diagnosed as a major stroke, Marta Sanchez walked seven blocks to another homeless service agency, received her life-saving token, and finally made it to the emergency room. She is now partially paralyzed.
It appears the homeless will not fare well in the New World Order. The fact that those responsible for assisting the most desperately needy are now coldly and with calculation turning on the disadvantaged is another shift away from democratic ideals.
In Hitler's Germany, the "useless eaters" were herded into hospitals where they were exterminated. In Santa Monica, the social service network is now apparently gearing up for a Social Darwinist agenda--ruthless, indifferent, and devoid of moral accountability.
