DNC to blame for polls

by D. Grant Haynes Saturday, Sep. 18, 2004 at 8:10 AM
dgh@cswnet.com

Senator John Kerry and the Democratic National Committee have only themselves to blame for Bush's gradual ascendancy in the polls. Never has an incumbent been more vulnerable than non-elected,bungling George W. Bush. Any nincompoop should have been able to defeat Bush this election year.

Vote Nader He's sane

by Sheepdog Saturday, Sep. 18, 2004 at 12:02 PM

Vote Nader. Either of these clowns are disgusting and the media sucks, having brought us these cow pies of the human spiecies.

Nothing else makes any sense. We have let the media, between episodes of Survivor, select these idiots to represent us. Screw the media. We can mobilize in a positive fashion on another level below the surface of the corporate media and shove our collective shoe up their ass.

If we care enough to get off OUR now targeted asses as citizens of a darkening America..

Yes, PLEASE Vote Nader

by Ignatius Saturday, Sep. 18, 2004 at 1:11 PM

Please, I'm BEGGIN' all you lefties out there to vote for Idiot Ralph. Every vote for Ralph is one less for Lurch, and so is one more for George. (No Republican would consider Nader.) So, all you clowns, do your bit to keep grown ups in charge and VOTE FOR RALPHIE.

nah

I know a Group of pissed off Republicans who are disgusted at both candidates.

he failed to define himself

by more rational Monday, Sep. 20, 2004 at 3:35 AM

He failed to define himself apart from his status as a Vietnam War hero. He failed to go on the attack against Bush's failures, and, as someone wiser than I has said for months, campaigned on the issue of security.

Security is an issue owned by Republicans. Real security is a subtle and complex thing, but rhetorically, the Republican arguments for increased forced sound more feasible than a Clintonian balance of powers. It jibes with the mythology we have (or myopia we suffer) about our foreign policy.

The one thing I like about this Kerry campaign is that hundreds of thousands of people are starting to take their politics more personally. I saw two Pasadena Democrats out at the shopping area tonight, selling bumper stickers. That's something new under the sun in America. We haven't had politics in public in a while. Not the kind of public politics where no politicians show up, and where there's no media.

This is the kind of "vote" you can't get from a big media buy. This is the kind of participation that a lot of Democrats don't really like -- it's called real democracy. Good for them.

And, there's also the big Nader push. If the whiney wing of the Democratic party could stop complaining about Ralph for a minute, and really assess what's happened since 1996, they'd see that Nader's been a catalyst whose helped create the Deaniacs, by example. The Green party campaigns proved, to those who would notice, that people are willing to work for and pay for a proper candidate with solid democratic ideas, and a real track record.
