Call for information on bio-fuel/bio-energy power stations.
Greetings from Tasmania, south of Australia. Our State government is planning to develop so-called ‘BIOFUEL’/’BIO-ENERGY’ electric and heat generating power stations fuelled by WOOD left over after logging native forests for woodchip and milling.
The government organization is called ‘Forestry Tasmania’. Forestry Tasmania (FT) is using examples of such power stations in the USA, Finland, Sweden and Denmark to persuade people that such industries are normal, safe and a viable alternative to fossil fuels.
Some of us are suspicious, so we are calling for people around the world with knowledge and experience of these power stations to contact us with information to help us make the right decisions before it is too late.
The specific examples they are using are:
-Anderson Power Station, California
-there are apparently 30 biofuel plants in California
-McNeil Plant, Burlington, Vermont
-Lincoln Power Station, Michigan (operated by Belgium company Tractabel)
-Forsa Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Plant, Finland
-Ranhalanti CHP Plant (MacIntosh type?), Jyvasklya, Finland
-and others in Denmark and Sweden (un-named).
