American Majority: The Antiwar Movement Was Right

by by Wire Sources 24 Jun 2004 Saturday, Jun. 26, 2004 at 1:02 AM

A majority of Americans now agree with the anti-war movement that the War in Iraq was a mistake, a new poll by the mainstream media has found. During protests leading up to the war, opponents argued against troop deployment and claimed that the attacks would make the U.S. less safe.

It now seems that the rest of the country has caught up. 54% of the Americans polled said it was a mistake to send US troops into Iraq. 55% also said it had made the country less safe. The findings mark the first time since Vietnam that a majority of Americans has called a major deployment of US forces a mistake. A majority of people in almost every other country in the world have been arguing against the war for nearly two years.

Iraq had nothing to do with radical islam

by more rational Saturday, Jun. 26, 2004 at 3:26 PM

Iraq had nothing to do with radical islam. There were people inside Iraq sympathetic to them, but, no reports that it was a major force within Iraq.

Today, it *is* a major force within Iraq, and there's the threat of Shi-ite alliance between Iran and Iraq. Unfortunately, Iran is in a better position to invade Iraq than we ever were, because Iran has allies within Iraq's borders, and a common enemy to fight against (us).

All this bullshit talk about "good vs. evil" must fall away. We need to get the fucked up "I believe in the rapture" president, crony veep, and warhawk cabinet out of office, and get someone in who's capable of negotiating a lasting peace.

This is WW3 shit.

no more relativism, thanks

----It's moral relativism--the false dogma that good and evil are mere 'value judgements'--that has allowed evil to flourish.

---Kerry the Nothing will lose precisely because he lacks even the ability to define good and evil...wait...that's not totally accurate. "Evil" to a spoiled Kerry is anything that gets in the way of what Kerry wants.

---No way will this guy be elected.

Radical Islam is evil

by BA Saturday, Jun. 26, 2004 at 8:43 PM

Radical Islam is evil

Iran is ruled by radical Islamic Mullahs. Iran is, therefore, evil.

Iran has a border with Afghanistan on one side and with Iraq on the other side. There are substantial US troops in both of those countries. That's comforting.

Syria is another evil state. They also have a border with Iraq. There are substantial US troops in Iraq. That's comforting.

Radical islam is our enemy. We're on the ground in the middle east with substantial troops. That's comforting.

They're attacking our soldiers in Iraq and getting their Jihad warriors killed in the process. That's better than having them attacking our police in Los Angeles or Chicago. It's a good thing that it's happening over there. It's a good thing that we no longer have our head in the sand as we did in the Clinton years.

Saddam is in jail where he belongs. He's no longer terrorizing his own people or sending money to families of Palestinian suicide bombers. That's comforting.

not only that, BA

Reagan called the Soviet Union what it was, an "Evil Empire," and the left blushed and shit its bloomers.

We called their bluff.

Bush is a leader, not a pollster like Clinocchio was.

Thank God the adults are in charge in D.C.

Spoiled Kerry couldn't organize a girl Scout troop to sell cookies. Why would the U.N.---incompetent savages they are---listen to him?
