I came to Brunswick to witness the escalation of Police Brutality & repression at the G8 Summit expected after Miami FTAA protests .... It ain't here. BUT, The New Tactic is Clear to all that are here.

In the lead up to the G8 summit; organizers and IndyMedia folks have been constantly harassed and intimidated by the overwhelming MILITARY presence in Brunswick where for 4 days straight the residential neighborhoods have been REGULARLY patrolled by military humvees.

The makeshift IMC was constantly harassed by our boys in uniform. The 8 am 2-3 humvee procession woke us up each morning from the 4th to the 8th.... Machine guns have been pointed at IMC staff.. they have gone door to door in the neighborhood asking if ANYONE had a problem with us... they have called local authorities to investigate bogus animal cruelty changes.. And then... they disappeared.

It wasn't long before we noticed there must be a severe electric power problem somewhere because the Georgia Power trucks were now on every corner.. cruising up & down every street and never really going anywhere.
