Only "God bless America" can eclipse "land of the free, home of the brave" as far as nauseating statements go.
(NOTE: this message was edited solely for grammatical clarity)
The basic values of America include, Freedom of speech, Religious freedom, and Equal rights, but on the one-dollar bill you see the "In God we trust" and the pyramid with the eye on top (this would be the symbol for God as far as Christianity goes). What happened to not mixing state and church and religious freedom (as long as it is the preferred religion?)
Marked so thoroughly by corruption of its own "ideals," it can hardly be called an open or a free market. A nation so consumed by its self-interests that the third world is ignored even to the detriment of goods consumed by you, the greedy American public!
And your media is so manipulated by endorsements that the "news" is never truly critical of politics, even when illegality is self-evident. However, this objectivity seems to be of slight concern to you, Joe Six-pack -- as long as you are not personally affected. It is sickening and I wonder just how much ignorance there must be in America for you to be so obtuse to such clear violations of your own values and beliefs!
Every day you take their kids to school and go to work, and every Sunday you go to church -- same story every week, every year -- and for what? A corrupt government that has a chokehold on the public; manipulated such that it isn't even noticed anymore? As life passes, what has changed in the "home of the free"?
Nothing.
Even with opportunity and freedom open for all Americans, you still use the world's population without ever having seen another country or even offered an open mind to hear the opinions of the rest of the world!
You say you that you are the Defender of Democracy when in reality this is a concept foreign to you: two parties, virtually the same, controlled by white Anglo-Saxons who value egocentric self-gain and ambition. This of course is unknown to the majority of the American public, but what the hell, as long as you make a comfortable living...
So in closing, SHAPE UP, WAKE UP, and watch BBC!!!

A foreigner asks, 'What the hell is your nation up to?' A U.S. citizen responds, “Get a life, subnormal.”
Only "God bless America" can eclipse "land of the free, home of the brave" as far as nauseating statements go.
GOD BLESS AMERICA, LAND THAT I LOVE…

WOW. YOU’VE EXPOSED A GLARING EXAMPLE OF HYPOCRISY. YOU DESERVE SOME KIND OF AWARD.
Marked so thoroughly by corruption of its own "ideals," it can hardly be called an open or a free market. A nation so consumed by its self-interests that the third world is ignored even to the detriment of goods consumed by you, the greedy American public!
I NOTICE YOUR NATION OF ORIGIN IS NOT MENTIONED. DO SO AND WE’LL COMPARE CHARITABLE GIVING OF OUR CITIZENS VERSUS YOURS. HELL, WE PROBABLY PAY TO PROP UP *YOUR* COUNTRY AS WELL.
And your media is so manipulated by endorsements that the "news" is never truly critical of politics, even when illegality is self-evident. THERE’S THAT WORD AGAIN: “OBTUSE.” WE ALL SAW “SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION” AND ALL KNOW THAT WORD. DON’T PLAY IT OUT. WE IMPEACHED A PRESIDENT OVER ILLEGALITY, PAL. THE LAST ONE TO BE IMPEACHED SHOULD ALSO HAVE GOTTEN THE BOOT. DUMBASS LIBERALS.
Every day you take their kids to school and go to work, and every Sunday you go to church -- same story every week, every year -- and for what? A corrupt government that has a chokehold on the public; manipulated such that it isn't even noticed anymore? As life passes, what has changed in the "home of the free"? Nothing.
AND YET EVERYONE FLOCKS HERE (NOT TO YOUR COUNTRY) TO PURSUE THEIR DREAMS. HMM. I WONDER IF IT’S NOT SO BAD HERE AFTER ALL.?
Even with opportunity and freedom open for all Americans, you still use the world's population without ever having seen another country or even offered an open mind to hear the opinions of the rest of the world!
IF YOU’RE REFERRING TO THE WAR, WE HEARD “YOU.” 30 NATIONS IN THE COALITION TO FREE IRAQ IGNORED YOU AS WELL.
You say you that you are the Defender of Democracy when in reality this is a concept foreign to you: two parties, virtually the same, controlled by white Anglo-Saxons who value egocentric self-gain and ambition. YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT AMERICA EXCEPT WHAT YOU’RE FED THROUGH A TUBE. AT LEAST YOU HAVE THE EXCUSE OF BEING A FOREIGNER, TOO ASHAMED TO ADMIT HIS OWN COUNTRY OF ORIGIN, WHILE AMERICAN SOCIALISTS HAVE NO EXCUSE FOR BEING DUMBER THAN YOU ARE, SIR. GOOD DAY.

socrates said that the unexamined life is not worth living. and yet, if you look around, really look hard at human beings and their actions, it is clear that the vast majority have no awareness of what they are doing. people don't like to think - to question traditional cultural beliefs, their own place in the social order.
the US public is no different; it just so happens that the US is the top imperial power right now, and americans don't question whether it's right, or the situation is tenable forever, or whether it matters at all. after the US pases the baton to some other militarily and economcally strong nation-state over the next few centuries, people will be asking the same kinds of "what are they thinking?!!" type questions about who's in charge then.
so, sadly, it is unlikely that most people will "wake up." even if they were to watch bbc or do their own research to find out what is going on in the world, these sleepy people would be able to ignore information that goes against their ingrained beliefs, and never reexamine their opinions on much of anything. here's to a bleak future.

---Maybe, maybe not. The reality is, there are plenty of people on the ball all over the world, who DO know what time it is and have a fair understanding of themselves. And lo, not all of them are "anarchists" and other lefties.
the US public is no different; it just so happens that the US is the top imperial power right now, and americans don't question whether it's right, or the situation is tenable forever, or whether it matters at all.
---Even this IMC site is a testament that perhaps your scope of the issues at hand is not as wide as it could be. Furious debates are taking place every day on almost every issue. Contrary to what leftists are saying, the other sides don't just fall into lockstep when ideas are presented, including the recommendation for war against a hostile despot.
after the US pases the baton to some other militarily and economcally strong nation-state over the next few centuries, people will be asking the same kinds of "what are they thinking?!!" type questions about who's in charge then.
---"we'll see." Future wars will be 99% economic. Hopefully they'll be some other nations in the next century that look a lot more like the USA and a lot less like China (including China).
so, sadly, it is unlikely that most people will "wake up." even if they were to watch bbc or do their own research to find out what is going on in the world, these sleepy people would be able to ignore information that goes against their ingrained beliefs, and never reexamine their opinions on much of anything. here's to a bleak future.
---the world has always been a troubled place, so take a break from the latest chompsy book (fiction never looked so real) and crack open a beer.
