June 5 is only ten days away!!

HELP MAKE JUNE 5 AS BIG AS POSSIBLE!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO MOBILIZE IN THE FINAL TEN DAYS BEFORE THE EMERGENCY DEMONSTRATION!

Revelations about the ruthless brutality of the

U.S. occupation of Iraq have put the White House,

the Pentagon and Wall Street on the defensive. The

Iraqi people want the U.S. out. The troops want to

come home. Everyday, more and more people here at

home and around the world are turning against the

occupation.

On Saturday, June 5 the people's movement will again

take to the streets to oppose the U.S. war machine and to demand self-determination for the Iraqi people, and all other people living under occupation.

The time to act is now!

You can help make the demonstration here in Los

Angeles on June 5 another important step forward in

the struggle of the independent people’s movement to

bring the troops home now and to get all foreign

troops out of Iraq.

Outreach and visibility activities are going on every

day from now until the day before the demonstration.

Check out the activists schedule below, plug in, or

come and pick up flyers and posters to pass out and

paste-up on your own. The ANSWER office will be open from 10 to 6 Monday through Friday. Postering and leafleting will be going on everyday until June 5.

** FRIDAY, May 28: 6 pm to 9 pm **

Meet at the ANSWER office. Help poster and leaflet.

Make phone calls for June 5.

** SATURDAY, May 29: 12 Noon to 4 pm **

Meet at the ANSWER office. Postering squads are going out to blanket L.A. and surrounding areas. Join

leafleting teams. Help assemble placards and paint

banners.

** SUNDAY, May 30: 11 am to 2 pm **

Meet at the ANSWER office. Join a postering and

leafleting squad.

The ANSWER office is open every weekday for

leafleting, postering and phone calls.

** DOWNLOAD THE JUNE 5 FLYER: Download the flyer for June 5 from www.answerla.org, make copies and pass them out to as many people as you can.

** TELL FRIENDS ABOUT JUNE 5: Call and e-mail all your friends and co-workers.



** SPREAD THE WORD LOCALLY: Drop leaflets off at your local bookstore, coffee shop, mosque, synagogue, church, etc.

** COME TO THE ANSWER ACTIVIST MEETING: Tuesday, June 1 at 7 pm. This week’s ANSWER activist meeting will focus on organizing and volunteering for June 5. Get involved. Hear what other area activists are doing to get the word out for June 5. Also: a political update and discussion!

** VOLUNTEER: Volunteer for the day of the

demonstration. Call (323) 464-1636 to volunteer. The

more people who volunteer for the day of the

demonstration the more successful the demonstration

will be.
