Lord help activism!!

by astrid proll Saturday, May. 01, 2004 at 9:32 PM

"Tonight we were able to finaly move. Tonight i stopped marching and started living. I really do feel alive, im no longer an activist sheep. I live at night and dance during the day..."

American "resistance" today? What does it entail? Marching, chanting, complaining, holding up signs, marching on the legal police route, going home? I don't really know. Things today seem to be digging a giant hole rather than creating a monument. Nothing seems to be done, nothing seems to be changing, and nothing seems to be accomplished. I am a anti racist, anti sexist, and anti homophobic anarchist. If you would like to get down to the boring politics of things. If you want to get down to the labels that help us rant the old rhetoric bullshit that gets us nowhere.

When i look upon the potential of things it depresses me. When i see Liberals, leftists, and even anarchists with politics so far up their ass it limits everything. It isolates one and lifts the other. It makes one feel more intellectual and denies the others. Its getting tiring, its getting boring, its getting disgusting and repulsive. The way we go about our marches and do the same thing every time, the way the black bloc cant talk to each other and has to have their own click of friends to hang with, the way something like a magazine cover depicting a stereotypical mexican showing people the hate and blind categorization people have towards mexicans, is a racist overwhelming catastrophe to idiotic liberals. I guess where i'm getting at is all i see are people blindly following this same dull 'activist' routine. Nothing is happening. It is harming us more than helping us.

The public thinks we are crazy loonies because we are! Look at ourselves, its quite ridiculous and its quite sad. Its fine to believe in anarchism or socialism or reforms, or feminism, or anti racism but once we start sticking it so far up our ass, it will kill everything. All i see is it killing everything. Its undesirable to the public and also to myself. No one wants to join a movement that they see going no where.

So i have a proposition thats free to anyone who would like to comment. How about we start laughing at ridiculous things. How about not being afraid to play around or mock people who say such words like nigger or faggot. They are just words (odd and funny words i think). How about lets do whatever we want to show others opposition rather than these boring marches that get us nowhere. How about we talk to people and not censor them. How about we talk to homophobes or racists rather than yell at them. HOW ABOUT we live our lives without harsh care of small things that hardly affect us and maybe start to act upon more bigger things, more disgusting things. Maybe we should think outside the box. Maybe we should have fun? Maybe we shouldn't be afraid that all this political rhetoric shit thats getting us nowhere is completely dead. Maybe we should live. Maybe we should think of something new...?
