The Hutton Report appears to have added fuel to the controversy about the alleged
suicide of David Kelly. The Hutton Report apparently cleared Tony Blair of
“sexing up” the WMD data, and found that Blair was not responsible for the
suicide, or alleged murder of David Kelly.
The Hutton Report appears to blame the BBC for most of the allegations in regard
to the David Kelly affair. Andrew Gilligan, the Reporter who leaked Kelly’s name in the media resigned. BBC Director Greg Dyke was forced out, and BBC Chairman Gavyn Davies resigned.
There are several flaws in the Hutton Report that are blatant. First, the WMD dossier
was “sexed up,” or exaggerated as Gilligan had reported. US Weapons Inspector David
Kay has found no evidence of any WMD in Iraq prior to the war. Furthermore, Blair
was in the loop in regard to the weapons dossier, and used the report to justify the
invasion of Iraq.
There was a secret meeting between Sir Richard Dearlove, the head of MI6, and Kevin
Marsh at the BBC. The Observer found that Dearlove had told Marsh, that there was
a lack of coherent evidence for the WMD, so BBC Today editor Marsh, approved
of the content of Gilligan’s reports.
In regard to the suicide, or murder of David Kelly, Blair appears to have not been
involved. There has been a lack of evidence to connect Blair to any of the agents involved in the alleged murder, and it is possible that Kelly, may have taken his
own life.
The Hutton Report does blame the BBC for most of the intelligence problems that
the British government was responsible for. The Blair Administration is responsible
for the exaggeration of the WMD data, and the BBC was accurate in reporting that
the WMD data was exaggerated.
The Hutton Report is a blatant attempt to whitewash, and coverup the fabrication of
the WMD data that began during Operation Rockingham, and was later continued
at MI6, and other agencies. Blair is ultimately responsible for the fabrication of the
WMD data, and Andrew Gilligan was carrying out his responsibility as a journalist
to provide an accurate story.
