Bush, Blair nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

ABC News Saturday, January 31, 2004.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/s1035353.htm

Two of the architects of the Iraq war, United States President George W Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair, are among nominees for the 2004 Nobel Peace Prize.

Nominations for the prestigious award close tomorrow.

After sending thousands of soldiers to war and failing to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, Mr Bush and Mr Blair have been put forward to receive the Nobel peace prize.

They should get the award

by Garaj Dohr Monday, Feb. 02, 2004 at 6:10 PM

I think those two fully deserve to receive the Peace Prize.

By eliminating ruthless regimes in both Afghanistan and Iraq they've made the world a safer place for all of us.

By chasing down the Al Queda terrorists they've done the same. Bin Laden isn't nearly so dangerous hiding in a cave with half of his key men either dead or locked up.

I applaud their nomination

More like a "Nobel Piss Prize"

by mediawatcher Monday, Feb. 02, 2004 at 6:48 PM

What a joke? Just like when they gave an award to Golda Meier, or whatever the hell

that zionist shill's name was.

Please, tell them to get a clue. What peace is there in Afghanistan when U.S. troops

are still being killed and the warlords who still oppress women and non-fundamentalists

are in still in power. A nobel peace prize would be an insult to the troops in Iraq who

are being taken out on a daily basis by the insurgents just so Halburton can get better

oil contracts in the Middle East. There is no peace in the U.S. and if Al Qaeda is so

much in check then why do we have to endure these stupid orange alerts and extensive

security checks at the airport. So you can get an award for instituting a police state

(bush) or thumbing your nose at your own people when they clearly disagree with

you (blair). Shit, then by that token we might as well give the prize to Saddam himself.

If anything, this suggests that the peace prize could be just a piss prize; a golden shower

by the elite to whitewash the atrocities of their agents.

The peace prize should go to all the people all over the world who tried to stop this

madness, or to the people who exposed what a lie the weapons of mass destruction

threat was.

...and what do you expect from a garage door, yet another troll trying to sneak back onto

the imc to do more surveillance.

Can't you tell?

that's Bush Admirer using his stupid handle.

they gave Kissinger one

by x Tuesday, Feb. 03, 2004 at 1:22 AM

The following men have all been awarded the nobel peace prize:

Yasser Arafat

Mikhail Gorbachev

Menachem Begin

Henry Kissinger

Le Duc Tho

Woodrow Wilson

Theodore Roosevelt

All these men have blood on their hands. Sometimes those folks passing out peace awards, get it wrong.

Peace Prizes

by Barney Tuesday, Feb. 03, 2004 at 1:51 AM

The Prize is awarded for work done in the previous year in the cause of peace. I think they were all probably the best candidates in each particular year, even Arafat, he appeared to go out on a limb although we know now that he wasn't sincere.

Gorbachev I think is the one man who richly deserves the honour, he is a brave, decent, honourable man. what an irony that he is reviled by many in his own country. In a similar way our own President is loathed by a small and noisy minority in this country. There will always be pinheads who cannot see the bigger picture.

What about Berlasconi

by wavemaster Tuesday, Feb. 03, 2004 at 4:33 AM

Berlasconi should be nominated as well. Look at how his Jack Boot thugs protected Italy from those horrible protestors. They bravely went into the IMC and beat those skinney little vegans while they were sleeping, cracking heads, and breaking bones. Did you see the way the Robo Cops in their Armored cars shot that kid dead. This to me reallly set the stage and provided the peacefull example which made this nomination possible for Bush and Blair. I think the Free Trade meetings in Miami should be the clincher for Bush. That was peace in action.

I can't wait to see the Empires new military bases in Iraq, I'm so proud of the Way Bush and Blair took us to war to free the people of Iraq. I'm sure the people will bow down to Lord Bremer and there will be a great democracy any day. Gee maybe soon we will march into Iran and Syria while were at it and free those people too.

War is Peace!

Slavery is Freedom!

Street thuggery must be crushed

by Barney Wednesday, Feb. 04, 2004 at 1:25 AM

Everyone knows that except the snarling thugs hiding behind banners of peace.

spoken like someone...

Barney, you should go check one out.

Bush continues to do everything he can to establish a lasting peace in the Middle East.
