I ve actualy heard that the White House published "official" numbers that reached 504.
My goal isn t to minimise those numbers, but there is something sick that I wish to point out:
Since the beginning of the invasion last spring, 504 US soldiers have been shot and killed in Iraq.
In the same periode, some 6000 US civilians have been shot and killed in America.
To compare Americans shot and killed in the US with those shot and killed in Iraq in the same period is absurd. There are a few hundred million Americans in the US. I do not know the actual number in Iraq, but would say it is probably in the tens of thousands, or about 0.1% of the number in the US. If 10-12 times as many are killed in the US, that is still a far smaller percentage than those dying in Iraq.
