Sen. Leiberman's comment this last Sunday.
"On the question that we’re celebrating today (Saddam's Capture), Howard Dean throughout this campaign has said he wasn’t sure that Saddam really represented a threat to us. At one point he said, “I suppose the Iraqis are better off with Saddam Hussein gone." I would say this, and this is a choice the voters have to make in the primaries. If Howard Dean had his way, Saddam Hussein would be in power today, not in prison."

And thousands of Iraqis and hundreds of Americans would still be alive, horribly burned people would be well and functioning, orphaned children would still have families, there would be thousands of people who did not have amputated limbs, hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of Iraqis would still have jobs, publicly owned industries would not have been turned over to private profiteers, there would not be unexploded bombs and shells everywhere waiting to claim new victims, American oil companies would not be getting control of Iraq's oil so they can drive prices up further, the ground would not be laid for a bloody new war with Iran, and capitalism would not have fastened its putred, vampire presence on the throat of still another nation. Lastly, American teenagers would not be in the sites of guns and grenade launchers as they are not in Iraq. A number of them are going to be killed during the next two weeks of the holiday season, adding to the ghastly toll of victims this insane war has taken.

"And thousands of Iraqis and hundreds of Americans would still be alive"
No and perhaps..
Sadam would have assuredly murdered hundreds if not thousands by now if still left in power and many Americans may have been killed if he was left to his inevotable supoort of Al queda and their ilk.
I know it absolutely KILLS you that your hero was captured in a hole like some sort of bug, but that's the way it goes.
You might want to speak with some Iraqis before you start supporting Saddam again in their name.
You Meyer are a fucking animal.

And no, Hussein was not a supporter of Al Quaida and he would not have been responsible for the death of any Americans. Bush has the blood of many thousands on his hands, and so do his flunkies in Congress and the media. The US invasion of Iraq was as much a violation of international law as Hitler's invasion of Poland and Mussolini's invasion of Ethiopia. Or, or that matter, the 19th century invasion of Mexico by the United States. Bush and Blair should be on trial. The families of dead US soldiers and the families of Iraqis killed in the attack should be payed millions in compensation for the deaths of their loved ones - deaths that benefitted no one but the oil companies, whose profits should be seized to pay the compensation.

Meyer. You still got it!
God it must suck to be you with all your fearful delusions.
That Sadam was in league even indirectly with Al Queda is a given.
I love the whole "illegal war" bit. Do you have any idea how inane and childish you sound?
I've yet to hear you refer to any "palestinian" atrocities or 9-11 itself as "illegal".
You're soooo full of surface.

Caducada: "That Sadam was in league even indirectly with Al Queda is a given. "
...the only "given" in that statement is that it is a lie...
...but, hey, what have we come to expect from Republican? Truth is an anathema to Republican.

"Sadam would have assuredly murdered hundreds if not thousands by now if still left in power ..."
Bush has commented on the "tens of thousands" in Iraq that were denied justice under Hussein, a point which bears mention and which you parrot, fresca448. Neither of you, however, are willing to consider the hundreds of thousands dead as a result of US actions in Iraq (war and sanctions).
As for "fresca6634," there has been no credible evidence of links between the Iraqi government and Al Qaeda, the Bush administration has admitted that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, and what part of "illegal" don't you understand? Yes, Palestinian terrorism is illegal, and so are the state terrorist actions of Israel. Yes, 9/11 was illegal, but that gives no authority to launch an illegal attack on a sovereign nation that had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks.

"hundreds of thousands dead as a result of US actions in Iraq (war and sanctions)."
Less that 5,000 dead as a result of the war.
Sanctions were initiated globally under U.N. cognizance. All Hussein had to do to lift sanctions was to disarm and prove that he had done so.
You'd have thought he'd been able to at least do that.
Not to mention that it can't be proven that the sanctions caused even one untimely death...

You Leftists are hilarious. You constantly stomp your feet and whine endlessly about how the US is an imperialist bastard, how your president is evil incarnate and the new Adolph Hitler, how our military is nothing but a bunch of robot killers and how capitalism is the root source of suffering and oppression. You constantly howl that you are living in a big pile of American shit. Yet not one of you has the common sense or balls to step out of this big pile of shit and LEAVE. If you think your feet are covered in shit, step out of the shit. The jews felt the same way about Hitler and left Germany in droves. Why aren't you leaving?
There are plenty of Americans, myself included, who will be happy to lend a helping hand. We'll pass the hat and send you off to some hell hole like North Korea where you'll be much happier.

I think the retarded fascists should leave as there are many more sane americans than boot licking ass kissers for the Bush etc. crime cartel. Maybe Malta with the rest of the useless parasites.

Sorry, Reality Check or Fresca or whoever you are. We are not leaving. Leave and turn things over to fascists like you? Ha Ha. Dream on. We are going to chang things. That is what this site is for - to help people argue for social change. Remember how the thirties and the sixties changed this country? Reactionaries still grind their teeth over the fact that those two decades can't be repealed and the Humpty Dumpty of Yes, Sir, Yes, Mam, you can screw me over attitudes can't be put back together again. You ain't seen nothing yet.

...she just redefines the term to make the sale...

Thanx KPC. That's the perfect decsription of you left-wing morons (pardon the redundancy) relationship to Karl Marx and his failed theories.
And frankly I'm surprised you're still here considering how many times I've ripped of your head and shit down your neck. Idiot.
>That is what this site is for - to help people argue for social change.
No it's not, you dumbasss. It's for people like be to log on and laugh and belittle people like you. I told you that a million times and you still can't comprehend it.
>You ain't seen nothing yet.
I'm sure you and your fellow Stalinist would just love to have a rebirth so you could torture and murder all your political foes, but we're wise to your ways. You don't stand a chance.
Oh, and KMA, you can KISS MY ASS!! you left-wing fascist lump of shit.

I see... anyone who agrees with Bush is a 'boot licking ass kisser'. In other words, anyone who disagrees with you is a "retarded fascist" and just doesn't know it... right? I think I get it now. I see... only you guys are the smart people and no one could POSSIBLY have ANY reason for disagreeing with you that is remotely rational, right? In summary, people who disagree with you are stupid, right? So much for 'discussing the issues' and 'open debate'.
With regard to sending people to Malta - STOP THE PRESSES! - I thought you leftists were the people of 'inclusion' and 'diversity'? What about diverse opinions? Isn't OUR DISSENT FROM YOU patriotic? ... oh yeah, that's right, people who disagree with you are stupid, so our opinion doesn't count. I got ya. So much for diversity.
As I said before, we'll be happy to pass the hat for your trip to a dictatorship... but unlike you we wouldn't force you to go there. See the difference? Just a helping hand.
As for Meyer London... You lost all credibility the instant you called me a fascist. Do you actually understand what fascism is? Further, if you think quasi-intellectual socialists like you will ever succeed in destroying the capitalist system in this country you are sorely mistaken. If you want socialism move to Cuba. I'll even pass the hat for you.

Malta happens to be run by the P.N. (National Party)right now, which is a Socialist party, so most of you leftists would be much happier there than any of us conservatives.
I was actually in Malta when Eddie, their Prime Minister/President/whatever got elected. It was interesting to see so many sociaists celebrating the doom of that little island.

I said that hundreds of thousands died as a result of US actions in Iraq, including war AND SANCTIONS. The sanctions were the primary culprit, killing well over half a million innocent Iraqis. This death toll stems largely from destruction of civilian infrastructure by the US in Gulf War I and the pressure by the US to prevent any money from Iraqi oil sales from going to repair the damage. Contrary to popular opinion, the money from Iraqi oil sales under the Food for Oil program did NOT go into Hussein's hands to enable him to build more palaces. The money was controlled by the UN program and paid out only for specific projects. The US was able to exert a good deal of say on what the money was used for.
If you want lies, Max, I suggest that you listen to the Deciever in Chief, GWB. No one else can hold a candle to him.

"the money from Iraqi oil sales under the Food for Oil program did NOT go into Hussein's hands to enable him to build more palaces."
That's largely true. Saddam got his personal spending money from the oil smuggling operations with Jordan and Syria.
