Sorry Guys
Let me be the first to offer condolences on this awful day of mourning for you all. With the capture of your hero and spiritual adviser Sadam, I'm sure they'll be hard times ahead.
Sorry.
P.S.
Somehow the original thread was hidden.
Whoops.

Gee, Fresca, you haven't enlisted yet? What gives? Certainly you aren't one of those hypocrites that want others to do the fighting and dying for you, now are you? You've been on these boards for months now lauding this war, how come you ain't fighting it? Too comfortable at home on your computer?

"You've been on these boards for months now lauding this war, how come you ain't fighting it?"
I, along with about several million other Americans, would if we could if only we were a bit younger.
I'd enlist. Why not?
I'm doing my part at home, pointing out what assholes all of you turncoats are.

Excellent comeback!
I hope this doesn't ruin your holidays.
You could always jump on the inevitable bandwagon of "they merely staged a capture" conspiracy theory if it makes you feel better. Or you can boost your spirits by joining a "humane and gentle treatment for Saddam, our brother in the struggle against US imperialism" march.
Either way, I hope you can get through these hard times ahead.
Dark times loom for simple minded American hating leftists.

It was staged.
He's a double.
He got paid to get captured.
Mossad found him.
He made a deal for immunity in return for giving himself up.
There's bound to be more turn up; these are just off the top of my head.
The reality? We captured him. He was found with a pistol, but he didn't commit suicide with it or shoot his captors...because like most bullies, he's really a coward. And he will be tried, not by the chocolate poodle court in Belgium, but by the people who have the most interest in seeing him brought to justice: the Iraqi people themselves.
Sorry, fellahs. You hero is busted.

In case you right-wing idiots didn't notice while watching your favorite corporate "news" channel.... the FIRST demonstration held in Baghdad that celebrated the capture of Saddam was staged by none other than the IRAQI COMMUNIST PARTY.
Hundreds Iraqi Communist Party members and their followers held a noisy celebration on the street outside the party headquarters where they waved RED FLAGS EMBLAZONED WITH THE HAMMER AND SICKLE.
Like Communists and Socialists everywhere, the Iraqi Communists are happy that Saddam has indeed fallen and will never return.
International Left groups.. no matter if they are red in orientation or not, are HAPPY to see Saddam out of power! IT WAS NEVER THE LEFT THAT KEPT HIM IN POWER!
Saddam was kept in power BY THE RIGHT, from your false God Ray-gun to the Bu$h dynasty. It was the RIGHT that sent him weapons, money, and vital intelligence information. You are just too stupid or embarrased to admit this publically acknowledged fact.
So the straw man imperialism created to oversee the interests of capital has now been brought down! YES! A reason to celebrate! But when you see the Iraqi people in the streets carrying their Communist banners... when you see them carrying the Green and Black banners of the Islamic movment... do you stratch your head and wonder where your "victory" went?
Saddam repressed the Communists for you. He suppressed the Islamic movement for you. Now you've choosen to topple your Frankenstein monster. It is YOU who will now repress the Islamic, Kurdish, Socialist, and other movements that represent the MAJORITY OF IRAQIS.
You say you are "bringing democracy" to Iraq... but you will not let the Iraqis vote. You appoint a puppet government for them. When AND IF they will be able to vote for candidates of their choice... they will surely be candidates the U.S. does not like and will move to block.
So... who do you like being the new Saddam?

He should not be put on trial. He is not responsible for the evil he wrought. Years of alcohol and drug abuse have so severely damaged Bush's brain that he cannot be held responisble for his actions; he is merely the puppet of people like Cheney and Rumsfeld. He should be allowed to live out his days on some commune in the country, feeding chickens, sowing seeds, and listening to old tapes of Rush Limbaugh and Laura Ingraham.

Finally the tears stopped flowing, so you can type your latest nonsense. Your misery gladdens me, buddy. If only you could have tipped him off, I know you would.

That's easily enough explained.
The ICP was not a friend of Saddam's. He killed 'em when he found 'em, because they support Iran during the war in 80-88. No wonder they marched to celebrate his capture.
Now the Iraqi people must not trade one hellish dicatorship for another and resist the ICP.
"So... who do you like being the new Saddam?"
Not one of your commie pals, certainly.
Everyone who opposed the war to topple Saddam was, by definition, providing him de facto support.
So he was indeed a hero to the Left.

let's hope the Iraqi people are aware enough not to vote vote for these clowns. I knw the Commies will make all sorts of ridiculous promises and to a people unaccustomed to electioneering it might be very appealing.
That's what happened in Chile but fortunately we sorted it out. Hee hee!!

Leftie had a great point.
To ADD:
If anything people are pissed off that we wanted to see BUSH FAIL at this. As well as the 99% of things he has failed at. So he got sadaam! Good now GET THE FUCK OUT OF IRAQ! Move on to KOREA. Or how about looking for osama? Remember him. That guy who killed all those people by making a jet fly into a building or 2? People are so afraid of the islamic religion. Noncristian is one of them. Crist is a 2000 year old lie. Your fighting a really crappy fight by the way.
WE PAID 87 BILLION FOR A EPISODE OF AMERIKKKAS MOST WANTED?
I THOUGHT BUSH1 WAS PALS WITH SADDAM?
