Cost of war 'could feed the world's poor'
The head of the United Nations food agency says a fraction of the cost of the Iraq war would be enough to help boost international peace and security by feeding the world's poor.
James Morris is the executive director of the World Food Program and he says a small percentage of the tens of billions of dollars committed to Iraq could feed every hungry child on the planet.
He has also said people who are hungry are more susceptible to the message of people wishing to harm the world.
Mr Morris has made the comments while launching an appeal for $5 billion as part of the UN's annual global appeal, which is focusing on helping more than 45 million people in 21 crisis hit countries.
