Miss Afghanistan!by burka burner Monday, Nov. 10, 2003 at 1:12 PMHey... remember Afghanistan?! The place we liberated in order to bring freedom to the suffering women in burka?! Well, here's the fruit of our bombing, straffing, murder, and occupation. Miss Afghanistan!
Ah! Liberation! This photo shows 25-year-old Miss Afghanistan, Vida Samadzai, parading after she received a 'Beauty for a cause' award for her dedication and self-sacrifice as a founder of an Afghan women's rights organization, during a 'Miss Earth beauty' pageant in Manila, November 9, 2003. Never mind the name of the 'Women's rights' group, what it's politics are, where their offices are located, or how many members are in the group... just know that the Beautiful Samadzai founded the group. Also, forget that Miss Afghanistan lied when she said the Afghan government sanctioned her participating in the contest... they didn't, in fact, the new hand picked U.S. puppet regime in Kabul dennounced Miss Afghanistan. The Afghan Supreme Court on October 29, 2003 condemned Samadzai saying such a display of the female body goes against Islamic law and Afghan culture.
And what's this "Beauty for a cause" b.s.? WHAT CAUSE?! The 'cause' of imperialism? Or is that the 'cause' of women's rights? Yes, from burka to bikini... one oppression to the next! (Photo - REUTERS/Romeo Ranoco)
