Reviit

by Parmenides Wednesday, Nov. 05, 2003 at 1:50 AM

While "Droolling John" Ashcroft may want to revist and repeal portions of the Fifth and Fourth Amendments, and his crazy cronie bush may want to revist and repeal the First Amendment...this Second Amendmment is the one that needs to be seriously revisted. While I do believe that if guns are made illegal only the cops and army will have guns, and that that is very dangerous given all the thugs in the police depts and the murderous psychopaths in the SEALS, Special Forces, etc. I also feel that there is way to much gun violence in urban areas. I have been witness to too many shootings and seen too many kids funerals rather than graduations. There are bullets holes in my fence from when the neighbor was gunned down nine years ago. I still remember her, she used to wear a flight attendants uniform and told me her name was Pam.

The Second Amendment needs to be revisited, but given the craven cowardness of the republicrats and the full-on bribery of the gun corporations that probably will never happen, no matter what the majority of Americans want. So more death and heartbreak is sure on it's way.

It is also kind of sad that American used to be known for it's exports of fine tractors and other hard durable goods and now is known primarily for it's arms exports (#1 in the world), drugs (China means cigarettes), and television...

But Chomsky says:

by nonanarchist Wednesday, Nov. 05, 2003 at 1:51 AM

"It's pretty clear that, taken literally, the Second Amendment doesn't permit

people to have guns."

Chomsky's a loon.

How about the right to arm bears?

by Jim Bradley- New Socialist Alliance Wednesday, Nov. 05, 2003 at 2:14 AM

How about that, Americans are noted for their sense of fair play. Arm the bears and then go hunting.

Arm the bears and then go hunting.

by hunter Wednesday, Nov. 05, 2003 at 2:26 AM

Of all the woodland creatures, bears are some of the worst shooters. They become very territorial and nervous, not a good mindset to be in when you squeeze the trigger. Rabbits and squirrels tend to be too jumpy, I mean, you've seen them when they're near the road with traffic coming. Almost across the road, and at the last second try and dart back. Deer are a bit more calm, although they tend to freeze up when it comes time to shoot. Doves scare to easy. Turkeys ain't that bright. Owls seem to be the better shooters, although when you ask them if they want to shoot, they keep saying "Who?", and you say "YOU, ya damn bird." And they say "Who?", so it's a little hard to get them to participate. You usually just get tired of hearing them ask "Who?" and just shoot their ass.

But, I got no problem arming bears.

Suits me.

But what if they applied for a weapons permit right before they hibernate? I mean, the five-day-waiting period would end, and they're alseep.

And should they have the right to purchase Hunter Orange-penetrating ammunition?

Where will this madness end?!

Actually we're conscientious objectors.

by Yogi Wednesday, Nov. 05, 2003 at 2:32 AM

We refuse to fight, you stinkin' baby killers!

Ain't that right, Boo Boo? Let's go get that pick-a-nick basket!

You're slightly cofused, Yogi.

by nonanarchist Wednesday, Nov. 05, 2003 at 2:38 AM

Like most Lefties, you're an Unconscious Objector.

Asleep from the neck up.

does that amendment include ammo?

by __==__ Wednesday, Nov. 05, 2003 at 3:14 AM

if it doesn't include ammo then the corporations would make a big pile with handtohand rifle fighting schools-- not good for private biz---, and taking away arrows would starve the Natives!...will these things come up for the next election, or will they be swept under the carpet?

long live anarchy and long live people with guns!

how else to protect ourselves from the government in particular the police?

Sevie, protecting yourself from the police...

by nonanarchist Wednesday, Nov. 05, 2003 at 10:56 AM

...with guns is like fighting fire with gasoline.

It. Never. Works.
