Dear Everyone...

Last February, we closed our doors with the promise of a quick reopening. Thanks to you and all our customers, we were debt free and in healthy financial shape. In the past 7 months, we have been hit with broken promises, a slow lumbering city bureaucracy and all the usual problems and unforeseen costs associated w/ building contractors.

Financially, the delays have been crippling. When we open (hopefully in mid-October), our debt will be massive.

When you signed our e-mail list, it was to be informed of our opening date and other store news; so it is very difficult to now have to ask for money.

5500 of you signed our e-mail list; if each of you gave at least $20.00, we would be half way toward eliminating our debt.. For some of you, $20.00 is not a

lot of money, but for many of you, it is a great deal...especially in this time of the greatest oxymoron in history: the jobless recovery. Donating money to the

Midnight Special is also truly a gift, because it is not tax-deductible.

We ask you...because we have to.

A group of wonderful and generous people have formed a Friends of the Midnight Special Committee to raise funds for the store...if you can offer time and/or

services, they could really use your help.
