RAISE THE FIST is forming a new collective of dedicated volunteers who are SERIOUS about continuing raisethefist.com.

Below is a list of volunteer positions that need to be filled ASAP. A meeting is going to be schedualed sometime this week to get everything together. If you are interested please contact rtf@raisethefist.com



SERVER ADMIN -

responsible for maintaining the server; experience with LINUX and networking, Apache web server, installing daemons, setting up accounts, making backups, DNS servers, managing all information regarding domain registrar (dotster.com) if in case domain needs to be moved to another host.

WEB DESIGNER -

someone who can update the main page with new featured articles, news and updates while working within the graphical user interface of the site design. should have good knowledge of hard-coding HTML, and editing images. On the main page, each featured article has a related picture next to it with a soft red frame around it. Sticking to this basic layout for featured articles is important.

ALSO - a GRAPHIC DESIGNER may also be needed to assist web designer in providing graphics that fit well within the site. For example, a banner for an upcoming event that can be displayed at the top of the site, or even custom graphics for featured articles.

MODERATORS -

a team of people who basically lurk on the site as much as possible and move irrelevant posts to the "irrelevant posts" section. Usually articles are not immediately moved to the "irrelevant posts" section until users request it. To find out which articles are irrelevant you can view the "irrelevant posts" section to get a good idea as well as view the posting guidelines at http://www.raisethefist.com/posting.html. The purpose of this is to keep the wire an informational tool and keep it from turning into some random blog for pointless ranting, flaming and arguing.



PERL PROGRAMMER -

someone who has good experience in perl programming and will be able to edit, fix, install, CGI scripts (such as the newswire script) whenever necessary.
