URGENT - CAMPAIGN TO SEND THE TROOPS LIQUIDS - WE ARE ASKING THE CORPORATIONS TO DO THE JOB WAR PROFITEERS REFUSE !!
URGENT – NUMEROUS REPORTS INDICATE THE TROOPS ARE LITERALLY DYING FROM DEHYDRATION – IF THE WAR PROFITEERS (I.E. – “PRO-WAR JINGOS” WON’T SAVE OR SUPPORT THEM),
MAYBE A MAJOR CORPORATION WILL.
FOR THE COMPLETE STORY, GO TO:
http://www.takebackthemedia.com/pepsicoke.html
IT APPEARS THAT THE WAR PROFITEERS are killing our troops by not even supplying them with at least the basics. If we are to have private corporations involved, why not ones that will lose customers if they don't perform?
Take Back the Media is Challenging Pepsi and Coke to take the reins and save some lives.
SEND THE TROOPS LIQUIDS.
Send them Water at the very least - Send them something with electrolytes, a sports drink?
Send them YOUR PRODUCTS FOR FREE. YOU can afford it and you will have the weight of every soldier loving american behind you squarely.
DO SOMETHING GOOD FOR YOUR COUNTRY. Don't tell us that you don't read the newspapers or cruise the web looking for trends for advertising campaigns - your fingers are on the pulse, everyone knows that.
Here's your chance to BOTH create a goodwill campaign and get FREE ADVERTISING while you SAVE the LIVES of the truest Patriots there are - those willing to DIE FOR THEIR COUNTRY.
There are links on our website http://takebackthemedia.com
that will show you this is a REAL CONCERN, such as:
Poor supplies hurt soldiers Penny-pinching and privatization make life tougher for troops PAUL KRUGMAN New York Times
Other stories are far worse. Letters published in Stars and Stripes and e-mail published on the Web site of Col. David Hackworth (a decorated veteran and Pentagon critic) describe shortages of water. One writer reported that in his unit, "each soldier is limited to two 1.5-liter bottles a day," and that inadequate water rations were leading to "heat casualties." A U.S. soldier died of heat stroke Saturday. Are poor supply and living conditions one reason why U.S. troops in Iraq are suffering such a high rate of noncombat deaths?
Water allowance - Australian Army Soldiers are encouraged to drink sufficient water to remain hydrated. Thus the requirement for water varies according to environmental conditions. Generally, a minimum of three litres of water is required to sustain a soldier, but this requirement can increase considerably.
Coping with Food and Water Problems:
Soldiers must drink even when they are not thirsty. Leaders should establish a program of regularly scheduled enforced drinking.
a. Inactive persons in comfortable climates need a minimum of 2 quarts of water a day to prevent dehydration. Using this as a basis, a general recommendation for soldiers participating in cold-weather operations is to consume about half a quart (half a canteen) of water with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and before going to sleep at night, with an additional half quart drunk every hour during the workday (more if the work is strenuous enough to cause the individual to sweat) for a total of at least 5-6 quarts per day.
There is no way around it - the troops are being exposed to between 120 to 150 degree heat DAILY. They are coming home and dying in their sleep from the dehydration they are experiencing in the field and combat zones.
It's time for PEPSI and COKE to join forces and ADD LIFE to our troops. DO IT NOW. DO IT PUBLICLY - and DO IT OUT OF YOUR LOVE FOR THIS COUNTRY..
WRITE TO THESE COMPANIES AND TELL THEM THEY HAVE THE POWER TO FIX THIS.
Go To http://www.bringthemhomenow.org and read some of the heatbreaking letters to the families who want them back home now.
THEN:
WRITE TO CONGRESS AND DEMAND THE REINSTALLMENT OF THE WAR PROFITEERING ACT AND A COMPLETE INVESTIGATION INTO THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION'S TREATMENT OF THESE SOLDIERS WHO HAVE BEEN CHEATED BY BUSH AND THE CORPORATIONS THEY'VE HIRED.
WHO is in charge of this mess????
Let's find that out too.
Write to us at info@takebackthemedia.com if you have any information.
While you're at it take a look at my latest work called ARMY OF ONE at the
http://www.takebackthemedia.com website. and please donate to get this on National TV.
We also have a radio ad showcasing these problems on our website.
Let's expose the hypocrisy of this lying Bush administration of thieves --
they won't even give our soldiers a decent amount of water to keep them alive.
Let's spread the word.
Even the "pro-war" forums and jingoes ought to be ashamed of this.

I read the Paul Krugman story and it says what the article says it says. The Bushies are so amusingly, if also horifyingly, inept and penny pinching. It makes you sure this is the sunset of the empire, when we have such idiots trying to maintain it. Sigh. But the story is true. Let's get busy. Post a comment when you send your letters...

The solution is not to make the military better occupiers but to demand that they be brought home and the military be shut down. No, I will not support giving them more liquid or more money; I support giving them a boat ride and/or a plane ride home TODAY. They can leave Iraq in exactly the same manner they arrived, with all deliberate speed, and when they get home, they can and should quit the military, TODAY!

They could have refused the liar-n-chiefs unconstitutional and unprovoked war of aggression as conscientious objectors.
They want liquids? Let them drink oil.

The soldier on the picture is British, not American.
Just to show the level of your ignorant spoutings.

It was nice of you to send a picture of you on assignment, BA. Did they feed you well? Did you get petted and scratched? These mean left wing dorks, how could they doubt the fair and accurate reporting of such a cute pussy.

...he would probably get plenty of water. If he is American he has to buy it. Either way, if he is in Iraq he is in a place where he is not wanted and should get his bodily fluids back to the USA or UK asap.
Let the generals do the search and recon on 1.5 liters.

are you filling in for BA (hint, hint)? It is an M16, indeed. But the boots, helmet, and the olive drab colour of his uniform are not US issues. And he is not wearing a chem suit, by the way. Considering the scope on his weapon and the battery of the laser designator mounted on the stock, the picture has been probably shot in Ulster, not in Irak.

Styers and HK, maybe. Awkward looking affairs; that little bird cannot hold it in a secure fashion during close order drill tis pain to see. they need the old FN FAL back. Now that was a nice rifle. Light accurate and equipped with a substantial round. The last battle rifle. Where is the M-16?

its kinda like the mainstream media in opposite. Of course a moron like yourself still thinks Fox news is fair and balanced. What a laugh. Now the fascist wants to be the bastion of the Bill of Rights but can even quote one off the top of his head. Now run to the search engine to refresh your memory. What a buffoon.
