http://video.c-span.org:8080/ramgen/ndrive/project/rwh/rwh080303.rm From July 27, Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) speaks to Democratic caucus members in Ottumwa, IA. This forum was one of a series hosted by Iowa Senator Tom Harkin with Democratic presidential candidates.
90 Mintues in length
Kucinich is defenitely the most progressive candidate running for the Democratic party in 2004. As a former registered Green party member, I would urge other Greens and progressive minded citizens to register as Democrats and do everything they can to support the Kucinich campaign. Now is the chance for the Democratic party to take a stand against corporate rule, against the loss of civil liberties, against the death penalty, and against all the other wrongs in our country.
I suppose Kucinich is the best candidate so far. So what? The Democrats are already laughing at him. Let's stop trying to "reform" the Democrats or "bring them back to what they used to be." It's going to take a lot more than a Hollywood, liberal fundraiser at David Cromwell's house to create a mass movement in the United States. Kucinich's campaign will play a part, but let's remember Howard Zinn's advice: it's not so much who's sitting in the White House, but who's "sitting in".
Kucinich, although only one of a few Democrats with the backbone and independence to stand for a progressive agenda, is a step in the right direction. If we can get him in office it could have a radical effect on the democratic party and can lead to many progressive victories such as seperation of corporation and state, restoration of civil liberties, cutting the military industrial complex budget and lessening the power of the war profiteers. Do you have any better, realistic ideas for gaining these freedoms? I sure don't see any. We bitch and moan about how the democrats are too cowerdly to stand against the interests of the rogue corporations whose interests conflict with those of a healthy democracy, and yet when we finally get a shot at an independent democrat with the right ideas for president, we make up excuses. Kucinich is THE progressive candidate for 2004 and it is in the interest of all progressive mided people, socialists and welfare capitalism supporters to endorse his campaign.
Who was "Clinton Roosevelt"? - for $1000

[The Science of Government Founded on Natural Law
Clinton Roosevelt, 1841 Dean & Trevett, N.Y.
Few Americans realize that Clinton Roosevelt, an older cousin of Franklin D. Roosevelt wrote a book published in 1841 that contained most of the New Deal and the NRA (National Recovery Act). It also contained most of the Communist Manifesto. This was a few years ahead of Karl Marx. ]
Woof woof.
let's not forget...
GW lacks in the "presidential material" department more than just about anybody and he somehow made it into the white house...
so there is hope for the likes of kucinich and others who so called lack in such a way.
do you really think somebody gives a rat's ass about your pretentious historical cataloging ?
I guess it takes 63 long years to become that smug.
says who? You?
"There is something about being there that a 20 year old just can't comprehend"
What would be this "something" ? The arrogance of an old man?
There are things you can't fool a 20-year old with. Among them, the heaping bunch of lies, cynicism, hypocrisy and prejudice that Reagan, Bush the elder and the lesser have inflicted on the American people and the rest of the world. The facts speak for themselves.
