Corporate media bios of newly appointed George Bush Press Secretary Scott McClellan emphasize that Scott is the son of Texas Controller Carole Keeton Strayhorn and the brother of FDA Chair Mark McClellan, but none mention his father, Barr McClellan, by name. [The Washington "Post" article July 10 mentions only his parents divorce when Scott, now 35, was age 10. His hometown paper, the Austin "Statesman", on June 20, and the official White House press release, made no mention of his father.]
This mainstream infomercial silence on the paternity of Ari Fleischer's replacement may in part be due to the fact that father Barr is reported to be planning to publish a book entitled "BLOOD, MONEY & POWER: HOW LBJ KILLED KENNEDY".
According to the July 2003 issue "JFK/DEEP POLITICS QUARTERLY" published by Kennedy assassination researcher Walt Brown [e-mail: kiasjfk@aol.com ] father Barr's book is due to be published in late September, along with many others expected on the eve on the 40th anniversary of the November 22, 1963 Presidential assassination in Dallas.
According to Brown, at p. 22 of his journal, Barr even claims he helped arrange assassination payments! 1963 being 39-40 years ago, presumably this was done before son Scott was born [about 1968], and perhaps before Barr met Scott's mother Carole.
Nevertheless, Brown speculates, "It would be interesting to see a reporter ask the new press secretary, 'Scott, do you, or does {Bush} have any comment about a new book which claims that a Texan committed murder in order to become President in 1963?'
"And then, of course, the Press Secretary would say 'I don't have any comment about Daddy's book.' "
