KPFK's New Schedual - What do you think?

by Pacifica Fan Thursday, Jul. 10, 2003 at 10:35 PM

I'm archiving this here for future reference and to open up a public area where folks can discuss the changes. Also, don't forget to sign the petition asking KPFK to look at what WBAI does with web streaming (since it's free); KPFK's web streams have become next to useless because too many people are using them and WBAI has a really cool solution KPFK shoudl adopt

Here's the petition for the web streaming

KPFK PROGRAM CHANGES

Fri.,
7/04/03
Open Letter from Program Director Armand Gudiño regarding program changes effective July 15, 2203:

This is Armando Gudiño, program director for KPFK. As many of you are aware, Pacifica and its broadcast stations have undergone many changes in recent times. Several weeks ago we began a new process of change and growth with hope of creating and developing a new and stronger KPFK. Today we have reached that goal. I would like to thank the endless support and participation of the hundreds if not thousands who contributed in the many different ways they did. KPFK now moves towards the further diversification of programming as we do so in the area of political consciousness, cultural awareness and the empowerment of all communities that contribute to the well being of humanity. Change is difficult and growth is even harder. We undertake these challenges for you the audience, supporter and members of the growing demand for change. As we move forward we pay homage to those who have contributed to what we call Pacifica. We thank you for your endless dedication and contributions that now pave the road others to participate in what many of you have created.

I would like to ask the audience to join us in our mission to fulfill Lew Hill's vision of a lasting understanding between nations and the individuals of all nations, races, creeds and colors. Please log on to www.kpfk.org and take moment to review our new programming guide. You will here more of this in the next two weeks and we welcome your comments at comments@kpfk.org.

Thank You

Armando Gudiño
Program Director

Note: Program Schedule subject to change. This Program Grid will take effect on July 15, 2003.
