Please stop with the 11-9 conspiracies

please fucking stop with the 11-9 conspiracies

Please stop with the 11-9 conspiracies

anti-intellectual

by a non-braindead X Wednesday, Jul. 02, 2003 at 5:13 PM

Conspiracies happen. Deal with it.

JFK, RFK, MLK -- all of them were assassinated, with our government playing a role. Hell, even the MLK case has been proven in court. Bet you didn't know that, did you?

Now, there's a huge pile of theories flying around w/ respect to 9-11. A great deal of them are total crap. But it's also true that the official story on 9-11 is total crap. America doesn't have the truth out in the sunshine. Are you going to tell us that what is the conventional story is the whole story? If you do, you show yourself as an ostrich.

Don't be an anti-intellectual. Sure, there's many of stupid theories out there. But being a book burner -- which is essentially what you are if you take this anti-intellectual stand -- is not becoming of you. Rise above or simply don't read the stuff if it irritates you.

ok then can u please leave out the ludicrous conspiracy theories

and put in the believable ones?

look buddy

by a non-braindead X Wednesday, Jul. 02, 2003 at 5:22 PM

Your second post is as off-the-mark as those whacko theories -- but I have a sense of humor!

It's just the nature of the way things are. America, in fact, has a long tradition of dig'in hyperbole. For example, consider the traveling circuses, the history of P. T. Barnum, Ripley's, etc. Or, look at late night TV. Europeans don't have the volume of get rich quick snake-oil sales programs. America has a unique cultural strain.

All this said, however, doesn't change the fact that we do have a shadow government (that's even admitted in the Washington Post), and that conspiracies do happen. Just hold your nose and turn away when you see the whacko shit -- or, if you have time, research and engage people and educate. But don't be an anti intellectual. That just makes you look bad.

anti intellectual

That's right. Don't be anti-intellectual. Be a part of group-think like us.

don't distort my argument, ass hole

by a non-braindead X Wednesday, Jul. 02, 2003 at 5:44 PM

enough said

can't do it

by can't Wednesday, Jul. 02, 2003 at 5:54 PM

argument? is that what it were?

can't distort what already been distorted

obfuscation

by a non-braindead X Wednesday, Jul. 02, 2003 at 6:05 PM

Wrong.

The argument:

1) While there are wacky ideas out there, closing one's mind to investigation is anti-intellectual;

2) corollary: if you don't like the field, turn away and do something else

that's the argument, simple and beyond debate. Take your spin-doctoring elsewhere

keep it coming

by darryl Wednesday, Jul. 02, 2003 at 6:19 PM

i want to encourage the conspiracy theories that fall under the heading "whacko shit". it reflects a lot of what is happening in the struggle as we wander deeper into the cave seaching for light.

Most Moronic Conspiracy Theory of All

by Meyer London Wednesday, Jul. 02, 2003 at 6:46 PM

Saddam Hussein had vast stores of weapons of mass destruction which, for some reason, he failed to use against the hundreds of thousands of US troops who invaded his country. He was also planning to give some of these wmds to bin Laden, who had alrady dedicated himself to destoying the Iraqi government and replacing it with an Islamic theocratic regime. Eager to assist in his own destruction, Hussein wanted to give bin Laden the means of carrying out his plan.

Not men of great honor

by Patriot Wednesday, Jul. 02, 2003 at 10:36 PM

Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld are missing in the list.

But they are men of principle: priviledged, self-serving, dictatorial.
