CFL ALERT: PROTEST THE ARREST OF HUWAIDA ARRAF

The Israeli army has arrested peace activist Huwaida Arraf for protesting the abuse of a Palestinian trying to cross an illegal checkpoint near Nablus. Peace groups around the world are dumbfounded by these malicious and confusing Israeli actions. If Israel is demanding that the Palestinians halt their armed uprising, why are they arresting, killing and maiming peace activists who are teaching the Palestinians nonviolent means of resistance?

TALKING POINTS:

*Tell your Reps that ISM founder Huwaida Arraf was taken into custody at the Huwara Checkpoint near Nablus today because she was protesting the abusive treatment of Palestinians by the Israeli Occupation Forces.

*Tell your Reps and the President that you fully expect that Huwaida be released immediately as she was not breaking any laws and her presence at the checkpoint was for humanitarian work.

*Ask why Israelis are arresting, killing, and maiming peace activists who are in the territories teaching Palestinians nonviolent means of resistance.

*State that you do not want your tax dollars sent to a country that regularly abuses the rights of American citizens. Remind the administration that Huwaida is an American citizen.
