It is a violation of U.S. federal criminal law, including the broad U.S. federal anti-conspiracy statute, which renders it a felony "to defraud the United States, or any agency thereof in any manner or for any purpose." Manipulation or deliberate misuse of national security intelligence data, if proven, could be "a high crime" under the Constitution's impeachment clause.
Let's try to put matters into perspective. President Bill Clinton was impeached (although not convicted) based on allegations that he lied about having sex with a White House intern. Serious stuff.
Patriots call for Bush's impeachment
USA Patriot Act could be a two-edged sword for Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheney and Powell
Washington, D.C. -- (OfficialSpin.com) -- 13/06/03 -- H. R. 3162, enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress was intended to deter and punish terrorist acts in the United States and around the world, to enhance law enforcement investigatory tools, and for other purposes, shortly after the tragic events of 9/11, on 24 October 2001. According to the Act, which was ushered through Congress by the Bush Administration, it is a violation of the Act, "Whoever willfully ...conveys or causes to be conveyed false information, knowing the information to be false, concerning an attempt or alleged attempt being made or to be made, to do any act which would be a crime prohibited by this..." It is a violation of U.S. federal criminal law, including the broad U.S. federal anti-conspiracy statute, which renders it a felony "to defraud the United States, or any agency thereof in any manner or for any purpose." Manipulation or deliberate misuse of national security intelligence data, if proven, could be "a high crime" under the Constitution's impeachment clause. Let's try to put matters into perspective. President Bill Clinton was impeached (although not convicted) based on allegations that he lied about having sex with a White House intern. Serious stuff. President Bush and his lieutenants are alleged to have lied about facts which have caused the death of many thousands of people, including American citizens, the attempted assassination of the leader of Iraq (whose fate is still unknown), the unwarranted attack against another sovereign nation, the unlawful detainment of thousands outside the reach of the U.S. justice system, all of which has cost U.S. taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars. Given that Afghanistan was not recognised by many countries, what was and continues to be done there in the name of Freedom, is left to your own description.
For the record, Bush's statements, in chronological order, were: "Right now, Iraq is expanding and improving facilities that were used for the production of biological weapons." -- United Nations address, September 12, 2002 "Iraq has stockpiled biological and chemical weapons, and is rebuilding the facilities used to make more of those weapons." "We have sources that tell us that Saddam Hussein recently authorized Iraqi field commanders to use chemical weapons -- the very weapons the dictator tells us he does not have." -- Radio address, October 5, 2002 "The Iraqi regime . . . possesses and produces chemical and biological weapons. It is seeking nuclear weapons." "We know that the regime has produced thousands of tons of chemical agents, including mustard gas, sarin nerve gas, VX nerve gas." "We've also discovered through intelligence that Iraq has a growing fleet of manned and unmanned aerial vehicles that could be used to disperse chemical or biological weapons across broad areas. We're concerned that Iraq is exploring ways of using these UAVS for missions targeting the United States." "The evidence indicates that Iraq is reconstituting its nuclear weapons program. Saddam Hussein has held numerous meetings with Iraqi nuclear scientists, a group he calls his "nuclear mujahideen" -- his nuclear holy warriors. Satellite photographs reveal that Iraq is rebuilding facilities at sites that have been part of its nuclear program in the past. Iraq has attempted to purchase high-strength aluminium tubes and other equipment needed for gas centrifuges, which are used to enrich uranium for nuclear weapons." -- Cincinnati, Ohio speech, October 7, 2002 "Our intelligence officials estimate that Saddam Hussein had the materials to produce as much as 500 tons of sarin, mustard and VX nerve agent." -- State of the Union Address, January 28, 2003 "Intelligence gathered by this and other governments leaves no doubt that the Iraq regime continues to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever devised." -- Address to the nation, March 17, 2003 Bush's let-me-mince-no-words delivery was convincing to many Americans. Rumsfeld, Cheney and Powell are guilty of assisting in the dissemination of the false information both before and after the act. However, the rest of the world, and many other Americans, doubted them. Now, we know the truth and Americans must take the appropriate action. All we are saying, is give impeachment a chance.

...from reality I do not find your surprising. Do you propose this ceremony take place concurrent with the Impeachment or the War Crimes Trial?
To Sheepdog:
While we are at it we might as well clean house completely. As well as Duhbya, we should include Cheney, Ronald Dumsfeld, and Wolfowitz.
Impeach, try, vacate, charge, convict, and throw into a very deep dark hole, lock the door, throw away the key.

""If he lied, he's not the first".
Today the media is trying another approach to the Bush crisis. It's a variation on the "they all do it" excuse. The theory goes that previous Presidents have lied to the public, therefore it would be unfair to make a big stink about Bush's lies used to start the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Never mind all the people who were killed, the world is just picking on poor President Bush.
But look at it this way. Does the fact that many murderers are never caught mean we must not punish those we do catch? Of course not. That only leads to more murders as those who like to murder realize they may do so with impunity. The same applies here. Yes, other Presidents have lied. Sometimes they got away with it. But that did not stop us from impeaching Bill Clinton and driving Richard Nixon from office for the lies they were caught at, lies which did not result in the killing of innocent people and the destruction of a foreign nation. Why shouldn't Bush be subject to the same or greater penalties for his lies?
Kicking Bush out of office for his lies sends a message to the entire government that lies and liars will not be tolerated by those who pay the bills and raise the soldiers. Not kicking Bush out also sends a message, that those who wish to like may do so safely and with impunity, secure in the knowledge that the victim of those lies will go on quietly paying the taxes and raising the soldiers for the liars to use and abuse.
Check your Constitution. The government is the EMPLOYEE of We The People. Now, can you imagine any company that discovers an employee who has lied to obtain money from the employer keeping his or her job? How about lies that kill people? Wouldn't the reasonable and responsible action be to fire that lying employee immediately, so set an example? Of course it would.
But the media is trying to persuade you not to fire the liar, to simply accept the liar because other liars got away with it, to do nothing, to think nothing, to not get angry, to keep and continue to pay an employee who lies to obtain more money and to send your kids off to war. And isn't that the definition of a dictatorship when the people do not react to a government that acts illegally? That's what the media is selling you when they try to convince you not to be angry with the liars in high office; they are selling you a dictatorship, a nation where those in power can do whatever they want, whenever they want, however they want, with your money and your children and you will stand there silently and say and do nothing about it. That is the future they are trying to sell you. And they will succeed if you let them.
Time has run out. You need to decide today whether you will live the rest of your life in a dictatorship or not. And you need to act appropriately. The good news is that the only reason the media is trying the "they all do it" excuse is that the situation is deteriorating. Pressure is mounting on Congress to act, that making phones calls, office visits, and GETTING ANGRY is working.
So if you are a true child of 1776, keep up the pressure. Talk to your friends about what is going on. The latest polls show that fewer and fewer people believe that banned weapons were ever found in Iraq. Polls show Bush's numbers plummeting. The GOP is trapped, caught between having impeached Clinton for lies about an intern and Bush's lies to start wars. Sooner or later, something has to give. Keep up the pressure. Fire the liars! All the liars. In government and the media. The people of this nation deserve the truth, they are owed the truth, and under the Constitution, the government is required to give the people of this nation the truth. And it is time for the DC boys to get the message that we will have a truthful and honest government or we will have no government at all. "

Since we found the root of this evil, now we can take action. I ought to draw a cartoon of americans, i think Id make her look overweight, clumsy, loud, with more food than she can eat. A devil on one shoulder telling her she earned it, while the angel is engrossed in endless streams of distractions. Whatever land she visits, she farts and leaves a sour stench lingering thus promoting scarcity and unrest.

Now, don't forget to draw her leaving billions of dollars in aid wherever she goes. Don't forget to draw her welcoming citizens from around the world to her shores. Don't forget to draw her unprecedented personal freedom and opportunity. Don't forget to draw her advances in the sciences.
Don't forget all that, and you may have an accurate picture.
That being said, what about the previous cartoon do you disagree with? It's all true. Just because you don't agree with something doesn't make it false.

found this
...According to a White House Fact Sheet, one of the president's main goals with the FY2004 budget is "promoting compassion." But this assertion is not borne out by the figures. For example, the total request for basic education aid in developing states is $212 million, whereas the increase alone in foreign military financing (FMF)--or funds given to states to purchase U.S. weapons--is $307 million. The administration also scored big with its announcement of a new, "well-funded" effort to combat HIV/AIDS. But this program is to spend only $3 billion a year on average ($2 billion is budgeted for FY04). Compare that to a hefty $4.4 billion annual budget for FMF, plus about $1.5 billion in additional security assistance for counternarcotics, counterterrorism, and other programs. In other words, given a choice between providing free drugs for AIDS patients or books for developing young minds, and giving away weapons to militaries of often-repressive regimes, the administration has chosen the latter.... http://www.foreignpolicy-infocus.org/commentary/2003/0302budget_body.html

Intelligence is a hit-and-miss business. In 1998, when Bill Clinton launched mid-Monica cruise-missile attacks on Afghanistan and the Sudan, he hit a Khartoum aspirin factory and missed Osama bin Laden. The claims that the aspirin factory was producing nerve gas and was an al-Qaeda front proved to be untrue. Does that mean Clinton lied to us? I mean, apart from about Gennifer, Monica, and which part of the party of the first part's enumerated parts came into contact with part of the party of the second part's enumerated parts. Or was it just that the intelligence was lousy? The intel bureaucracy got the Sudanese aspirin factory wrong, failed to spot 9/11 coming, and insisted it was impossible for any American to penetrate bin Laden’s network, only to have Johnnie bin Joss-Stick from hippy-dippy Marin County on a self-discovery jaunt round the region stroll into the cave and be sharing the executive latrine with the A-list jihadi within 20 minutes.

ALL these bastards should be in cages. Pointing at clinton is certainly justified. Doesn't let Bush off the hook. In fact, all the way back to JFK (as far as I can remember) these killers have been running a corporate murder for policy. It's just too damn blatant in Bush's case to sweep under the carpet. Too bad there isn't an open season on liars and killers. Impeach, if necessary, then hang all of them. As an example. Then we go for the shadows who gave them their operational orders. It would be busy times.

From what I have seen, Bush does not strike me as a confident leader. It seems as though he doesn' really know what he is doing. He speach is horrible, he is and he is very defensive. I am not trying to offend you, but I am most interested in knowing what is it that you like about Bush as a leader (besides sharing similar values). On another note; I always considered myself to be an open minded voter, I vote for whichever canidate has the most experience and innovated ideas. I have voted for those running in the Republican Party , Libertarian Party, Green Party and democrats. After being lied to over issues of the war and seeing the circus in California, I don't believe I will vote Republican for a long time. What is your take on the recent California election? In regards to earning votes, do you think it do good for the Republican party? Or will Arhnold represent the party poorly and lose votes in the future?

Must we so easily forget that it was white Christians who came to this country and destroyed the indiginous Indians and their culture. It was white Christians who brought and sold slaves from Africa to other white Christians. It was white Christians who mistreated the Chinese and other Asians in this country and considered them to be second class citizens until the 1960s. It is the white Christians and the Christian-right coalition in this country that supports facism and the egregious "patriot act." It is white American Christians like our President who continue to support the cruel and ethnocentric Israel State.
If you want to talk about the violence, corruption, hatred and genocide carried out by the history of Islam, one must also talk about the same history carried out by white Christians.
It is fundementalism and facism that will destroy this world.

"If you want to talk about the violence, corruption, hatred and genocide carried out by the history of Islam, one must also talk about the same history carried out by white Christians. "
But if you want to talk about the violence, corruption, hatred and genocide CURRENTLY being conducted by ISLAMISTS then you can safely ignore the histories of pretty much all other religions.
As barbarous as Christians have been, they've moved on. Calling the "Patriot Act" a comparable Christian atrocity is simply nonsense for instance.
Oh and by the way, when slaves were brought to America it wasn't Christians who sold them to the slave traders. It was their own African neighbors who rounded them up and sold them into slavery in the first place.

just what do you mean that Clinton is the liar and Bush is not? He started playing around in those peoples lives and taking everything they had for reallly nothing in return. He was pretty much shaking hands with the devil himself. Then in 9/11 they pretty much told everyone that they were sick of being punk'd. So Bush told the american people that they have weapons of mass dectruction. Sent our loyal troops over there to die for nothing. During the peace talks of a new government for Iraq. some prisoners were captured and they wanted to trade them for some american POW when (during the time of so called peace) America pretty much spat in their faces and hence the video of one of our own is brutally murdered. Common sense tells me that the whole election was fixed because of a Bush in office in Florida. And you say that Clinton and that whole liying about a few nights with a intern is cause enough to blind your eyes from the very thing you see before you eyes. Bush knows he messed up badly with the American people and won't even take responsiablity for his own actions. It is amazing you must be those blind people that drink exotic waters from the Artic with the Pesi Cola logo on it . If you think I am misinformed about what I know then change my mind. But first I think you need to wake up my friend if they got us blind sighted once they can do it again. Muslim are all over the place in the U.S. they own pawn shops in the bigger cities do you think they are not heavily armed. I invite you to look where the are stationed at in the African Americian Commuinties and I am sure you would not stop and ask for directions in the areas they are located in. Muslims have done like the Chinese and Japenese they are our doctors, nurses, lawyers, friends and nieghbors. In general they mean no harm but if it came to what you believe .Would you be ready to die for it? They are and always have. America has sit on it's high horse for a long time just butting into everyone affaris in the meanwhile our own country was suffering is it about time that someone reminded our government that when you take of home first the great things come later. Futher more none of these things would had been an issue if Bush had just did the right thing and not trying to pick up where his father left off
