Summertime's here and George W. Bush's pants are on fire!
Anyone planning to organize a big IMPEACH BUSH rally here in L.A.? July 4 seems like as good a day as any, and it seems likely the WMD shit may have finally hit the fan by then.
Please forward this suggestion to your favorite local organizer!

Parry, you should declare your independence from meat; it will be good for your health and your conscience. Gorging on the flesh and blood of an animal who was killed for your pleasure and probably suffered both pain and terror before it died is no way to celebrate a day off. A veggie burger with good mustard and a slice of onion or a tofu hot dog would taste at least as good.

I was driving along the highway today and came up behind a large 18 wheeler carrying a load of cattle. It was obviously headed to the slaughter house. The trucker had fashioned a small sign on the back of the truck which read, "Hamburger and Soup Bones Inside."
Enjoy your Tofu and Veggie Burgers on the 4th.
I'll be slow cooking a 10 pound beef brisket in the smoker. I've got a hot BBQ sauce that comes from Australia and the combination is awesome.
Sorry you won't be eating as well as I will, but have a nice 4th anyway.

...if God hadn't wanted us to eat animals, he wouldn't have made them out of meat.

The same argument could be used to justify canibalism. Or perhaps you are into that, too.

Bush Admirer, you are sorry that I won't be eating as well as you will? Aside from the fact that that is inaccurate, I am sorry that you probably won't be living as long as I will.

a story in some mag. a few years back interviewed 12 centenarians. The things they had in common were:
c) all ate red meat a) all were outdoors types b) all drank some alcohol, at least 3 times/week; a few drank a couple of shots everyDay!! d) all lived outside of any institution or care facility; they insisted on independance! e) all were avid readers and a few more i can'[t remember...

Meyer - I'd rather live my life for one year than to live your life for one hundred years.
Similarly, I'd rather watch O'Reilly on Fox News or listen to Rush Limbaugh than listen to Gore Vidal or Amy Goodman.
And I hope there is never another Democrat elected to any office in America. Let's go for 100% Republicans from now on.
President Rumsfeld in 2008. Now that has a nice ring to it, don't you think?
