DEBATE

by Zach Sunday, Jun. 08, 2003 at 2:17 AM

I just wanted to get a discussion started about waht you guys think about the media and society. This article was not supposed to provide news of any sort.

hehe

by fresca Sunday, Jun. 08, 2003 at 3:05 AM

"If you pick up a news paper or any source of news you will realize that you are getting a right wing point of view. All television networks that supply news have governemnt contracts, these contracts make sure that the news is not too liberal. There are not nearly enough highly circulated liberal magazines or newspapers. There needs to be a huge change in the next couple of years. There needs to be more liberal media."

Good one. This IS a joke right?

when you are as far left as these guys the "comunist weekly" looks like a far right publication.

Uh.....

by Zach Sunday, Jun. 08, 2003 at 8:42 PM

I am not joking, I feel that the far left isn't represented enough in the media.

You've got that backwards Zach

by Bush Admirer Sunday, Jun. 08, 2003 at 10:29 PM

The American press has a liberal bias and it's been that way for years. The major networks are controlled by NYC Jews who vote 95% Democrat. The leading newspapers are clearly liberal biased (NY Times, LA Times, Wash Post, Boston Globe, Houston Chronicle, etc. etc).

The only bright spot is the Fox Network where you can actually get objective fair and balance reporting.

Great example of liberal bias in our mainstream media

by Bush Admirer Monday, Jun. 09, 2003 at 10:38 AM

On June 8th, the Houston Chronicle ran this article demonizing corporations for their highly paid executives. It ran at the top story of the day and was boldly featured on page 1 of the main section.

http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/topstory/1941170

On the same day, the same newspaper ran this story about the Bush Administration's plans to provide prescriptions benefits and improve the Medicare system in America. It was tucked away on page 9.

http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/nation/1941916

I wonder why this same newspaper has never run a page one article about high salaried Hollywood entertainers, high salaried athletes and coaches, or high salaried labor union officials. Hmmm???

The only question remaining is whether the editors decided to do this on their own, or were encouraged by officials at Democratic Party Headquarters.

This is so typical of our left-leaning mainstream news media in America.

The Democrats are so starved for meaningful issues that they're attempting to turn corporate executive pay into an issue. This is certainly an issue that might interest the stockholders of the particular companies cited. But it's a non-starter as a political campaign issue that might benefit the Demorats. They simply have no valid issues and that's why they're grasping at straws like this.

Oh, but BA...

...FOX News is still out there, spouting the neocon party line.

Just one major conservative media outlet.

And the lefties are deathly afraid of it.

They won't be happy until all media outlets are Guardian franchises.

No, but we'll be happy when O'Reilly is put on trial.

by @ Monday, Jun. 09, 2003 at 10:54 AM

O'Reilly will face, in time, a revolutionary tribunal.

"A revolutionary tribunal"?

by daveman Monday, Jun. 09, 2003 at 11:00 AM

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

You really believe that nonsense, don't you?

You know, they already had the Worker's Revolution...eight people showed up, then went back to the unemployment office.

Maybe you could enlist Fidel @

by Bush Admirer Monday, Jun. 09, 2003 at 11:05 AM

Reply to @ -- Maybe you could enlist Fidel Castro as your leader @. He's got experience and knows how to organize and lead your type of revolution. He's better looking and cleaner than most of your guys too.

Too bad he no longer has Che to help out. Maybe you could spring Mumia to fill Che's role. Mumia just looks the part and boy does he ever know how to fling bullshit with the best of them.

Whenever you do get your revolution up and running, I'm going to start collecting old cars. They'll become valuable, just as they have in Cuba.
