I knew Bush would hang himself. This story is from the Washington Post, (oh but Bush Admirer will just say the Washington Post is a left wing rag). Talk radio shrills are still rambling about Clinton lieing about his extra-marital affairs while it is becoming clear that bush lied to the world about the reason for war in Iraq now you tell me which is worse.
'Multiple' visits to the CIA (news - web sites) by Vice President Cheney and a top aide over the past year created an environment in which some analysts felt they were being pressured to make assessments of Iraq (news - web sites) data fit the administration's policy objectives, The Washington Post reported on June 5, 2003. The report cited an unnamed senior CIA official and comes amid growing concern that the administration exaggerated -- either deliberately or due to faulty intelligence -- the threat posed by Iraq's weapons. Here is an article of Bush lieing to the world about WMD as he is Addressing the troops this morining in Doha, Quatar. When he pleges to find the weapons in Iraq for some reason it reminded me of OJ Simpson's promise to find his wife's killer. I also think the roadmap to peace is another distratction to deflect attention from the Iraq intellegenece scandal. When Bush first took office he walked away from the situation and let it boil over and become the violent struggle it is today. Clinton worked very hard to try and bring the two sides together and Bush just turned his back on the whole situation, and now after all the suicide attacks, and Isreal 's military attacks on civillians Bush decides to turn his attention to this dangerous situation. This just proves one thing, that we are just as responsible as Isreal for letting this thing continue. Look how fast Sharone gets up and is now suddenly the peacemaker. All Bush had to do was wisper in his ear and presto we have a peace summit. But like I said this is just wag the dog and a road map to nowhere, because untill there is economic justice here there will be no peace! click here to read the article of Bush addressing the troops http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/20030605/wl_afp/iraq_weapons_britain_030605112055

...emenating from Washington is the Bush Junta's body count of dead and dismembered "collateral damage".
Clinton was a scumbag.
Bush is a scumbag.
Given a choice between the two, while I would prefer neither, Clinton did less damage to the country than Bush.
Neither one is a Statesman. Neither had any interest other than their own self aggrandizement.
Impeach Bush.
Try him in the Senate.
Vacate him from Office.
Put him on trial for Treason and Crimes Against Humanity.
If convicted ....

Jobless Up, Orders Down, Recovery Shaky Thu June 5, 2003 02:31 PM ET By Anna Willard
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The number of Americans lining up to claim unemployment benefits surged unexpectedly last week and factory orders tumbled in April, reports on Thursday showed, indicating the economic recovery is shaky.
But consumers provided a bright spot, with May retail sales doing better than forecast as shoppers snapped up clothing and hunted for bargains.
"The pick up in the economy is still a forecast," said Paul Kasriel, chief economist at Northern Trust. "The economy here and now is still very weak."
Blue-chip stocks fell slightly after the reports and on tepid earnings news from some companies. The Dow Jones industrial average was down 11 points at 9,027.
U.S. Treasury yields set record lows after the data, with the European Central Bank's interest rate cut also fueling prospects the Federal Reserve would ease when its policy-makers next meet on June 24-25.
The Labor Department said the number of people applying for U.S. initial jobless aid rose by 16,000 to 442,000 in the May 31 week, its highest level in more than a month.
Analysts were expecting claims to drop to 420,000 from a revised 426,000 for the previous week.
"The labor market continues to struggle," said David Rosenberg, chief North American economist at Merrill Lynch in a report. "Companies remain hesitant to hire."
For a more complete picture of the jobs market, attention will be on Friday's employment report for May. Analysts are expecting a drop of 39,000 for non-farm payrolls, after a fall of 48,000 the previous month.
There was also disappointing news in the manufacturing sector. The Commerce Department said April factory orders sank 2.9 percent, worse than forecasts for a drop of 1.5 percent.
The report showed sharp falls in demand for machinery, transportation and electrical equipment.
Orders for computers and electronic products rose a modest 0.3 percent, but that followed a much faster 2.4 percent increase the previous month.
Analysts said more recent data painted a better picture.
"These are April data and the more current data from the ISM report would suggest that perhaps manufacturing is stabilizing at a low level," said Kasriel.
Monday's report from the Institute for Supply Management showed a rebound in the sector in May. Its index of manufacturing rose to 49.4 from 45.4 in April, beating economists' forecasts for a rise to 48.6.
And a leading manufacturing group, the National Association of Manufacturers, said last month it was seeing signs of recovery, helped by a weaker dollar, low inventories, better credit conditions, lower energy prices, spending and tax cuts.
One highlight of Thursday's data was on May retail sales.
Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi said its index of 72 retailers showed a 2 percent rise in May sales at stores open at least a year, above its forecast for a 1.5 percent increase.
Discounters like Wal-Mart Stores Inc. WMT.N and warehouse clubs such as Costco Wholesale Corp. COST.O and BJ's Wholesale Club BJ.N fared well last month as cash-strapped consumers looked for bargains on clothes and staples like food and household cleansers.
Analysts had been expecting a lackluster performance as many retailers have reported overflowing inventory and have had to discount merchandise, but price-cutting can fuel sales.

At least thats one thing we can agree on bush admirer the judges at the miss universe contest got it right this year. In fact I gaurantee you this contest was over after the swimsuite phase. Can you imagine the look on their face when she struted out on the cat walk. But sorry I bet she's definately ant-war. You may be right about the democratic field but your man is weak and if the economy doesn't get better he's gonna take the fall. I think health care could be an issue too and the usual republican retoric about socialized medicine isn't gonna work. There are too many working people without health insurance and seniors who need prescription drugs. Daschle and the other canidates who make healthcare and issue will get a boost in popularity.
