The clock is ticking quickly to the long overdue goal of burying one of the twin parties of capitalism, the Democrats, into the dustbin of history as there are now over 287,000 signatures gathered for the recall of the worst governor in California's history, Gray Davis.
The clock is ticking quickly to the long overdue goal of burying one of the twin parties of capitalism, the Democrats, into the dustbin of history as there are now over 287,000 signatures gathered for the recall of the worst governor in California's history, Gray Davis.
Meanwhile, the labor fakers, whose tying of the labor unions to the Democratic Party has caused the destruction of the American labor movement, are volunteering to oppose the Recall of Gray Davis. According to the Associated Press, printed in the Sacramento Bee, 5/27/03, at http://www.sacbee.com/content/politics/ca/story/6740934p-7692071c.html and the San Francisco Chronicle, 5/27/03 at: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/news/archive/2003/05/27/state1856EDT0119.DTL
"In addition to Dan Terry, president of the California Professional Firefighters, other co-chairs of the new group are: Rev. Cecil B. Murray of the First AME Church in Los Angeles; Mary Bergen of the California Federation of Teachers; Fred Keeley, executive director of the Planning and Conservation League; and Miguel Contreras, executive secretary-treasurer of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor."
The anti-labor record of Gray Davis is very long. Some items are: --His promotion of prisons and the death penalty, both by definition attacks on the workingclass;
--His promotion of private power over public power, including the bankrupt PG&E as well as the other private power companies;
--His promotion of capitalism, his support of Israel, and his proud opening of the Ronald Reagan library.
It is Gray Davis who is responsible for many millions of dollars of waste of our tax dollars by actively promoting the prison system, the death penalty and private power.
If these labor fakers actually cared about the workingclass, they would run a candidate who is not registered Democrat or Republican if the recall makes the ballot.
This feeble fightback, which in the light of the rapidly declining economy and the massive cutbacks mandated by Gray Davis' anti-workingclass economic policies, has all the strength of a wet noodle.
The good news is that Davis & Gang consider the threat serious enough to attempt a fightback.
I hope the progressive voters of California, who, like this writer, view the Democrats & Republicans as being viciously anti-workingclass, run a pro-labor, pro-public power, anti-death penalty and anti-prison candidate for governor if this recall makes the ballot.
All board the Recall Gray Davis train when it makes the ballot! You don't have to circulate the petition, but be sure to sign it if you meet someone who is.
