SHAME ON YOU LAPD, 04/13/03

by Propst & Bailey Wednesday, Apr. 16, 2003 at 1:28 AM
DumpTheShrub@aol.com

This poem is based on an actual experience following the peace march and rally on April 13, 2003, in Los Angeles.

SHAME ON YOU LAPD, 4/13

Cops, cops everywhere and not

a policeman to be found

We leave the peace rally and trek

back along Hollywood Boulevard

and a student film crew asks us

to comment on the war

Soon, a drunken bystander arrives

pushing the camera away, angrily

getting in our faces proclaiming

North Korea needs to be next

We walk away.

Further down the block we report

the incident to a tall bicycle officer

with a grossly distended abdomen

and we become the accused

We are guilty of trying to deny the

drunk his free speech rights and

we tell the uniform he is what's

wrong with the LAPD

We walk away from another drunk.

You live in the number one police state

by Paul King Wednesday, Apr. 16, 2003 at 1:48 AM

America has 40% of the entire World's jail population (87% on 'lifestyle charges'), the ONLY growing capital punishment rate, imprisonment without trial or legal representation (similar to old SA law) and more prohibitions than ANY country on Earth.

You live in a Police State NOT a free Country.

Have no illusions.

(P.S. Don't forget more 'weapons of mass distruction' than everyone else put together)

Then revolt

by John Tuesday, Jun. 17, 2003 at 9:34 PM

IF this is not a free country then we have one recourse, to revolt as our ancestors did in the 1770's. We would have to destroy the Federal government as it is now contstructed and restore the Constitution as it was meant to be.

...the Federal government as it is now contstructed and restore the Constitution as it was meant to be."

Uh huh.

And how exactly do you propose to do this?

In real, concrete terms, what's your plan?

How will you deal with the National Guard?

How will you keep emergency services operating?

What about municipal services?

Do you have a plan, or is this just a lot of bluster?
