you ignorant lefty bastards have an almost reflexive hatred for everything the U.S. does.
you ignorant lefty bastards have an almost reflexive hatred for everything the U.S. does. You denounce humanitarian interventions such as Bosnia, Haiti, and Kosovo because they were carried out by the great satan, who, by definition, must be doing them for some evil purpose. Why is it, since we are such an awful empire, that more third world refugees come to this country than any other? Not surprisingly the anti-war movement (pro-Saddam movement I should say), is being led by the traditional radical left, with their simplistic cliches and infantile slogans (No blood for oil!). No deacent patriotic American could ever oppose such a brave and honorable war as the one were fighting now, except if they were highly indoctrinated by your "academic" cirlces (pacifica, Noam Chomsky) which try to give justification for the hatred you feel toward your own country. Please do us all a favor and go to Iraq to be "human shields", and God willing you never return.

Remember that thought is being, and if you talk like a sewer than you obviously are the sewer. If you preach hatred, racism, and sexism than you are that.
As you slowly drown in your stinking hate please remember tha there are many who do not want to lie in the same cauldron of boiling excrement you call home. If you want to get out, just do so, drop your silly illusions on American superiority over 6 billion other human beings and ask for a hand, hell, I'll even throw a rope if you ask. Walking away from hatred and suicide is never wrong.

These rampant, vicious attacks on those who find fault with this administration and it's actions frighten me. You wish us all to blindly go along with everything our government says and not offer up our own educated, dissenting opinion.
THAT is anti-American if EVER there was such a thing.
What makes this country so great is the varied opinions and beliefs. You all seem so anxious to do away with diversity. To make this a Stepford country where everyone thinks alike and talks alike.
That, my friend, will NEVER EVER happen.
For as long as the President is a public servant (that means that he works FOR us) he will NEVER be above criticism. The day that happens is the day this country falls apart in a most tragic way.

To Horowitz is right,
In response to your comments I feel it is absolutely imperative that I make my opinions known.
Point 1 --- You said:
"you ignorant lefty bastards have an almost reflexive hatred for everything the U.S. does."
I agree with you in every aspect of that statement. However, it is also true that the American right has an almost reflexive love of everything the U.S. does.
Point 2 --- You said:
"Not surprisingly the anti-war movement (pro-Saddam movement I should say), is being led by the traditional radical left, with their simplistic cliches and infantile slogans (No blood for oil!)."
Once again I agree with you on every aspect of that statement. However, it is also true that the war movement is, similarly, being led by the traditional right, with their simplistic cliches and infantile slogans "Liberate Iraq" and "Support Our Troops."
Point 3 --- You said:
"No deacent patriotic American could ever oppose such a brave and honorable war as the one were fighting now, except if they were highly indoctrinated by your "academic" cirlces (pacifica, Noam Chomsky) which try to give justification for the hatred you feel toward your own country."
As for the issue of indoctrination, it is an American phenomenon, in general to be indoctrinated and conditioned to certain principles at an early age. By being subjected to repeated use of typical American rhetoric, the notions of freedom, justice, democracy and the United States itself, become embodied in the America psyche as positive, righteous and nationalistic feelings. Therefore, whenever anybody (i.e. the President, a college professor, a priest etc) even mentions the words "freedom", "democracy", "justice", etc, a psychological reaction takes place where the positive and nationalistic feelings (imprinted in the minds of Americans through its mental conditioning system) are invoked regardless of the context of the respective situation in which the words are brought up.
The result is what Americans believe to be "patriotism".
Let me refer to a famous experiment that will illustrate my position more clearly.
As part of an experiment, a doorbell of a house containing a dog would be rung. Upon hearing the doorbell, the dog would always come to the door. After the dog came to the door, food would be handed to the dog. This process was repeated numerous times. Eventually, it was discovered that just by ringing the doorbell, one could get the dog to salivate in anticipation of receiving food - regardless of whether it would actually get food or not. In other words, the dog was conditioned to believe that whenever the doorbell was rung, it would necessarily get food.
This is exactly how American "patriotism" works. It is purely reflexive rather than being an appropriate reaction based on logical premises.
Sincerely,
The New X

Hmmmmm. "Decent," "patriotic," and "honorable?" Since when are these adjectives used to describe warfare? Wake up, guy; there's blood on your hands. Since when is it unpatriotic to stand up for the values originally embodied in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights? And who is being simple-minded when you assert that being against Bush and his cohorts is the same as being "Pro-Saddam??" Both men are evil, violent, and bloodthirsty. Two wrongs don't make a Right.

It's obvious that the guy that started this thread is a (w)Horowitz worshiping freeper.
To understand them, look at their idols. David Horowitz was once a thinker of the left. The fact that he so proudly displays that history just goes to show how slimy he is. The David Horowitz of today would be pissing all over the people in the movements David Horowitz participated in decades ago. He's bought, period, end of report.

To nobody's surprise there were protesters today in DC, they attempted to disrupt the metro system and block the Key Bridge, a leading artery into DC from Northern Virginia. I got hosed twice because I come in from NoVA on the metro and it is raining hard which makes traffic worse any way. My commute was long and arduous and only caused further resentment for protesters. Anyway, I'll get to the point.
I got off the train in Rosslyn because I had to use the bathroom and the train was moving quite slowly. When I was getting back on the train, there were protesters on the train platform handing out pamphlets on the evils of America. I politely declined to take one.
An elderly woman was behind me getting off the escalator and a young (20ish) female protester offered her a pamphlet, which she politely declined.
The young protester put her hand on the old woman's shoulder as a guesture of friendship and in a very soft voice said, "Ma'am, don't you care about the children of Iraq?"
The old woman looked up at her and said, "Honey, my first husband died in France during World War II so you could have the right to stand here and bad mouth your country. And if you touch me again, I'll stick this umbrella up your ### and open it."
I'm glad to report that loud applause broke out among the onlookers and the young protester was at a total loss for words.

What a total load of propaganda bullshit. Heres a story for you. I was over in the West Valley last week And a pro war protester (mid 20's)stopped a citizen walking from his car in the parking lot. The pro war protester stopped the man walking towards the mall and said "Hey look at my sign" --The sign read "Support our Troops" The citizen looked at the sign and said, "I am a veteran of the first gulf war" I lost one lung due to the chemical and toxic oil fires while serving my country proudly" But when I came back, I found my government had cut funding for all veterans and would'nt acknokledge that I was suffering from an illness" "i lost my house, my wife and my dignity, thru no fault of my own" The protester looked shocked and lowered his sign. The veteran said" Your out here supporting another lie, and when the soldiers come back, You will once again forget they exist" "The corporations will get what they want, and the veterans will live with the consequences" The other protesters who stood around looked the other way and would'nt make eye contact with the veteran.

Take a long hard look at what came back from Vietnam. You will find them at the LA Vet's Hospital and in the cemetary across the street. Oh, yeah, at the cemetary you will find not only the dead, but the living wounded from Vietnam who are homeless.
Thanks, George Bush, for cutting funding to those who have served and asking more to go and serve in your immoral war. You are a bastard.

Like every other American debacle of a government endeavor there is most likely an enormous amount of misappropriated funds and bureaucrtic red tape before the ex vet, who in my estimation often has been transformed back into a common man on the street, can get any kind of help around here. Some

But wait theres more.... When I say fuck Israel, Im not saying fuck jews, or the moslems who live there also.. dont forget the christians. I believe in the freedom of religion....But not the fascist Israeli government. NEXT POINT OF ORDER When was the last terrorist attack on the united states? The world trade center? Actually if you look at the area that the trade center sits on(port authority) , and who conducts business there You may find that its not really American at all, Its more of a corporate multi national organization. keep em afraid Denounce the real patriots opposing the war.. And the rest of you will be led to the slaughter.

How can someone be anti-American? I've never heard of Italians accusing each other about being anti-Italian. Or the French accusing each other of being anti-French. Mexicans don't accuse each other of being anti-mexican.
