Looks like torture through sensory deprivation. The people who are responsible for this torture should be in jail.

I get the feeling this person is so over the top on purpose, to discredit Indymedia. there's much of that going on.
the person posted to other IMCs. Here's one

I posted the response below to one of the author's posts:

It's critical that people learn about the conditions there. But you know, you only make yourself sound like a nut-case if you compare the situation to Auschwitz. Don't go over the top. That's not journalism nor activism. That's just shooting yourself in the foot.
Get a grip and present information in a way that's not hyperbole. 1.5 million people were exterminated in Auschwitz. There's a big difference.

The Jews who died in Auschwitz did nothing to deserve their fate. The terrorists in Guantanamo deserve no one's sympathy. They are cold-blooded killers. To compare the two is demented.

Actually a few of the people released over one year later were shown to be civilians that had nothing to do with the Taliban or bin Laden. But since the U.S. was casting a large net and pulling in chum along with the real fish, they were dumped into the camp. And since the U.S. ignored real legal proceedings and trials, these individuals (and others still there?) were left to rot for over a year. That's fucked, Mr. Swift.
Yes, moral relativism arguments, as you note, are bogus. And to the dude that wrote the original post, you should be ashamed if you are honestly trying to focus people on the illegality of the U.S. position. Your hyperbole has made it flat-out easy for people to debunk you. That doesn't do you nor the cause of reminding people about the U.S. illegal position. Get a wee bit closer to real journalism and not agitprop.
...then again, maybe your intent was to be over the top...........

Sure, but not quite as fucked as a couple of jets killing 3,000 civilians. Sure, the U.S. might have been overzealous -- relying excessively on Afghans seeking a bounty -- but why do folks like Mr. Auschwitz expect perfection from the U.S. while looking askance at actual atrocities committed by others? The innocent detainees' biggest complaint was of sweltering heat in small cells, not of torture or beatings. One named Azeem said: "No, I don't hold any grudge against the Americans." Another said, "We had enough food to eat. We could pray and wash with water five times a day." If the situation were reversed with American terrorists killing 3,000 Afghanis and Afghanistan casting a somewhat wide net that brought in Americans (0.5% to 17% who might be innocent -- the actual figure still being up in the air although most of these have admitted to being wanna-be jihadists), I would find it very easy to understand their reasons for doing so. If anything, even the innocent should be thankful they were detained by a country whose citizens were free to criticize their government and often showed more concern for them than the actual victims of terror.

Listen kids I have a tale to repost. Thank you mathew: by matthew • Wednesday September 18, 2002 at 08:56 AM
this is a conspiracy theory: 19 men learned to pilot planes in a bumble-fuck town in florida. they board 4 commercial passenger planes. overtake those planes with box cutters. they pilot them unchallenged for the better part of an hour over the most densly populated airpspace in the u.s. and the world. they crash them one by one into some of the most significant buildings in the u.s. over the course of an hour unchallenged. they did this under the leadership of an evil man who lives in a secret cave in afghanistan.
because of all this, we must colonize afghanistan to build a pipeline to get oil from the caspian sea. we must also curb the civil liberties we pretend to be about as a society. and of course we must re-initiate a bombing campaign in iraq
the thing is conspiracies happen. the problem is some of them aren't true. some of them, like the one i just described are so unbelievable that only an idiot or a zombie would fall for them.-* (Plus the insider trading on put options that scream prior knowledge, the stand down of air power, the coma at NORAD the thumb up his ass pResident while it was going down, magic passports that are made of Kryptonium, invisible 'arabs’ that aren't listed in the flight manafest, no investigation; you moron, sucker...)
