At the risk of more hateful racist responses from small minded people, it is important that I find some witnesses among my brothers and sisters for peace...so here it goes. I'm not going to post my email given the last round of hate I recieved so please post on here if you did see me get arrested.
I was arrested on Saturday March 23rd at the Oscar's anti-war protest on the corner of Sunset/La Brea. I was arrested for standing on a public sidewalk and excercising my first amendment rights to protest against the war, I was charged with obstructing a police officer. I was surrounded by ten officers and was told I could only protest in permitted areas, and I was arrested for refusing to leave the public sidewalk while I was waiting for my husband. I asked the police officer what law says I can't stand and wait for my husband on a public sidewalk and was told that "my badge is the law". I was alone although several people witnessed the incident I was not able to talk to them and get their information as police officers were threatening to arrest anybody who stuck around. I know that one photographer documented the event. If you happaned to witnessmy arrest please contact me. THANKS!
PEACE!
