Bush Encouraging Shiites to Rise Up

by The Id Thursday, Mar. 27, 2003 at 9:30 PM

Please comment on the above scenario

I've been reading a few articles lately about Bush encouraging Shiites and other Iraqi's to rise up and join in fighting Saddam. I'm curious to hear all of your thoughts on the impact of such a scenario. As some of you will remember, Senior Bush encouraged Shiites and other Iraqi's to rise against the Baath party in the Gulf War, only to abandon them. The result was that thousands were slaughtered by Saddam. Accordingly, if the Shiites/Kurds again begin to fight against Saddam, and Bush pulls out, won't a premature end to the war result in thousands of deaths? I guess the point I'm trying to make here is, if such a scenario indeed occurs, won't protesting for "peace" actually lead to a greater civilian loss of life at the hands of a ruthless dictator?

Thoughts?

No Because the Shiites don't trust bush

by apache Thursday, Mar. 27, 2003 at 11:04 PM

The Shiites hate Saddam, but they have learned that you can't trust a bush, so, according to independent sources, the word is out that they're going to fight the coalition forces for their own sovereignty.

And by the way, those stories of a rebellion against Saddam in Basra are fake too. Al-Jazeera reports that their is no such thing.

For the future of a united iraq, i hope this is their responce ,cause when all the cameras has left they still have live together and if they dont support any sides the possability for a better life is very possible for all of iraqi people, if they will be given the chance wich i dont will be all what "Groose"Bush-wacked have been bragging about ,but who trust a facsist anyway
