Pope Endorses Anti-War Movement

by C/O Diogenes Thursday, Mar. 27, 2003 at 7:51 PM

In a blow against the Merchants of Death and Destruction the Pope sees good in the actions of opponents of the War.

Pope Endorses Antiwar Movement

_

Associated Press

Tuesday, March 25, 2003; 1:29 PM

VATICAN CITY -- The vast antiwar movement in the world shows that a "large part of humanity" has rejected the idea of war as a means of resolving conflicts between nations, Pope John Paul II said in a message released Tuesday.

The pope, a staunch opponent of the U.S.-led war in Iraq, sent his message to Roman Catholic military chaplains attending a Vatican-organized course on humanitarian law.

He cited the "vast contemporary movement in favor of peace" around the world and said he took "comfort and hope" from the efforts for peace by various religions.

This is not...

...good news for the murdering NeoCon Butchers in Washington.

Catholicism is the largest Christian Denomination by far.

The Pope's pronouncements are taken seriously by them.

When the serpent speaks (666)

by Boomer Thursday, Mar. 27, 2003 at 8:32 PM

That evil, greedy, arrogant, Satan worshiping hypocrite sits up there on mountains of gold while deceiving the world and turning a blind eye to suffering. If they truly cared about anything besides perpetuating their wealth and lies, they would have taken a vow of poverty and done something concrete to help the needy. But instead they have spent 1500 years spreading lies, committing abominable evil deeds and hoarding gold earned through that evil. Now they want us to believe they really care about anyone but themselves and their (formerly) secret plans to enslave the planet.

All of this war and terrorism is THEATER designed to lead us into a New World government headed by the Vatican or one of their evil representatives. They manipulated these events into being and now they want us to believe their lies and forgive immense levels evil an let them rule the planet, in the open.

The Vatican is the central bank of planet earth and that means that all the evil attributed to the world bank and international bankers and the military industrial complex and New World Order is being controlled by the Vatican and ultimately enriches them. Why is the Papacy secretly profiting from usury and other evils while PRETENDING to be virtuous and pious.

When the serpent speaks, ignore everything they have to say because its ALL lies. Don't be fooled any longer. Satan resides in the Vatican and the Pope is his right hand man. Would God's true representative reign over such a large cadre of child molesting liars??

I think not!!!

I take it...

What the pope says is only relevant if you are a catholic.. if not he is just a very old man who thinks he is the mouthpiece of God...

of course if you want to convert to catholisism then remember its a package deal no contraception etc etc

My spelling

My third grade buddy just told me how to spell the word "relevance." After that, I screwed his little butthole.

68 Million US Catholics

by Brian Thursday, Mar. 27, 2003 at 9:55 PM

If what the Pope says IS important to Catholics, then Bush is in real trouble. Catholicism is by far the largest religion in the US: 68 million strong, and getting larger everyday as more immigrants come to our shores.

Don't discount the political power of Catholics: it's VERY significant.

And ,in fact, what the Pope says DOES have moral resonance with many non catholics too, same as other spiritial leaders, such as cardinal Tutu, Dhali Lamma, etc.

But a voting block of 68 million is nothing to discount. It's VERY significant.

Fuck off, you religious nut.

Please disregard the comments made in my name above. Apparently Sheepdog is feeling frisky today and stealing a lot of nicknames.

It makes him feel young again, reminds him of life before the institution.

It seems as though we are not making any progress with that multiple personality disorder of yours. I need to put you back in your straightjacket now.

pope

by Scottie Thursday, Mar. 27, 2003 at 10:51 PM

Yes I accept that the pope might influence catholics. I am saying that that argument holds no water with NON catholics or even catholics who do not believe that the pope is especially connected with god (i expect this is a fair number).

More specifically, I am saying that it is not consistant to argue "the pope says it is true so it must me" IF you are a person who believes in abortion and various other issues.
