The Pentagon claims to have accounted for all the Coalition munitions expended over Baghdad on the day in question. Their guess is that the market was hit by an Iraqi Anti-aircraft missile that missed it's target.

There isn't any proof that this was a US missle. Many say it was an Iraqi missle.

Why do you so quickly blame the US? The US wouldn't target a market. It's possible that a missle fin malfunctioned. But it's much more likely that the Iraqis killed their own civilians to blame it on the US (for propaganda purposes -- to incite the Arab world and Indymedia junkies). It wouldn't be the first time they killed their own this week and blamed it on the Americans.
