REALITY POEM
Not as lean, Not as mean, But still a Marine. I sat in a movie theater watching "Schindler's List," asked myself, "Why didn't the Jews fight back?"
Now I know why.
I sat in a movie theater, watching "Pearl Harbor" and asked myself, "Why weren't we prepared?"
Now I know why.
Civilized people cannot fathom, much less predict, the actions of evil people.
On September 11, dozens of capable airplane passengers allowed themselves to be overpowered by a handful of poorly armed terrorists because they did not comprehend the depth of hatred that motivated their captors.
On September 11, thousands of innocent people were murdered because too many Americans naively reject the reality that some nations are dedicated to the dominance of others. Many political pundits, pacifists and media personnel want us to forget the carnage. They say we must focus on the bravery of the rescuers and ignore the cowardice of the killers. They implore us to understand the motivation of the perpetrators. Major television stations have announced they will assist the healing process by not replaying devastating footage of the planes crashing into the Twin Towers.
I will not be manipulated.
I will not pretend to understand.
I will not forget.
I will not forget the liberal media who abused freedom of the press to kick our country when it was vulnerable and hurting.
I will not forget that CBS anchor Dan Rather preceded President Bush's address to the nation with the snide remark, "No matter how you feel about him, he is still our president."
I will not forget that ABC TV anchor Peter Jennings questioned President Bush's motives for not returning immediately to Washington, DC and commented, "We're all pretty skeptical and cynical about Washington."
And I will not forget that ABC's Mark Halperin warned if reporters weren't informed of every little detail of this war, they aren't "likely -- nor should they be expected -- to show deference."
I will not isolate myself from my fellow Americans by pretending an attack on the USS Cole in Yemen was not an attack on the United States of America.
I will not be appeased with pointless, quick retaliatory strikes like those perfected by the previous administration.
I will not be comforted by "feel-good, do nothing" regulations like the silly, "Have your bags been under your control?" question at the airport.
I will not be influenced by so called,"antiwar demonstrators" who exploit the right of _expression to chant anti-American obscenities.
I will not forget the moral victory handed the North Vietnamese by American war protesters who reviled and spat upon the returning soldiers, airmen, sailors and marines.
I will not be softened by the wishful thinking of pacifists who chose reassurance over reality.
I will embrace the wise words of Prime Minister Tony Blair who told the Labor Party conference, "They have no moral inhibition on the slaughter of the innocent. If they could have murdered not 7,000 but 70,000, does anyone doubt they would have done so and rejoiced in it?
There is no compromise possible with such people, no meeting of minds, no point of understanding with such terror. Just a choice: defeat it or be defeated by it. And defeat it we must!"
I will force myself to:
-hear the weeping -feel the helplessness -imagine the terror -sense the panic -smell the burning flesh - experience the loss - remember the hatred.
I sat in a movie theater, watching "Private Ryan" and asked myself, "Where did they find the courage?"
Now I know.
We have no choice. Living without liberty is not living.

I doubt that even men in the American armed forces can be so boneheaded as this mo-mo's words suggest he his.
Iraq had nothing to do with 911 ya' idiot.
Re: the saving private ryan influences --> only reinforces my suspicion that Spielberg's film was military propaganda all along; Mr. E.T. was later a part of a US military contract with USC to develop war similations.
Drop out of the mo-mos, I mean marines, and get a brain private.
No wonder we're gonna lose this invasion.

Well at least you said "we're gonna lose this invasion" So you still admit you are an American. We all know you are a looser but the real men of America will not loose.

"We have no choice. Living w/o Liberty is not living"
Define Liberty and for whom?
Better Yet, I'll give you some help. Here's a defination arrived at by a man who had more intelligence then the entire 'Bush Clan' can muster jointly. ( ..and I like using it since you RePukes love trying to use the Forefathers to justify your cause's. )
"When the people fear the government you have tyranny; when the government fears the people you have liberty." -- Thomas Jefferson
Here's another clue: People aren't protesting by the millions globally because they're 'happy' that we're finally "liberating" Iraq.
Public opinion and forgien opinion DOES COUNT.

You're right. There are millions of ill-educated Leftists who love dictators and Totalitarians. Oh well. It's not like their opinions mean anything.

All this misty, hazy, "bound for glory" fantasy! I see the victim mentality has sunk deep into your bones, which is quite the purpose of the propaganda the facists in charge of the US government are spreading. They want you to feel that way, they want you to feel that there is no reason for anyone to harbor ill-will against the US. Wake up and smell the cordite, friend! The facists in charge are raping and pillaging the world and its people. . .There are most definitely reasons for ill-will against the US.
The plutocracy needs new markets of all and every kind in order to keep money flowing into their already full coffers. They know that without stealing the oil of the Mideast, the costs of their vaunted "civilization" will become too high to maintain. Of course, it will become too high even with it, due to the depletion of oil, but damn the torpedoes full speed ahead! Only the cost of energy is much more deadly than any weapon conceivable.
Rather than pooling all of humanity's resources and talents to share the task of transitioning to a world with much less energy, they are kicking other people out of their way to be kings of the hill. It's going to be an ugly fucking hill, but it will be THEIRS, dammit! These self-serving greedy demons don't share: they say it hinders the fostering of entrepreneurialism. Pull yourself up by your own bootstraps! Don't have any boots? Here, I've got a pair for sale! No money? No problem, sign here for credit: only 12 payments of $20 each! Only problem is the boots only cost $40. See how they make money out of thin air?
This presages a collapse of the economy in the near future. For when the debt reaches levels at which is is nigh impossible to repay, as it has in several countries around the world, even the parasitic financial institutions will be unable to "loan" money to "pay" the previous loans.
Time to get rid of these parasitic institutions and individuals and their lifestyles, in the broadest possible meaning: we simply cannot afford it in global energy terms. We are going to have to scale back humanity's footprint on the earth now, or face dire consequences.
Put your personal energy in the right direction, friend, not down a bottomless pit of greed, anger, and ignorance.

I do not fear my government I started working at the age of 12 years old. I have made a good living through hard work. I have traveled the globe without interfearence. I am free to do whatever lawful acts I whgch I choose to do . I attend whetever church I want to without interfearence. I can voice dissapproval of my government without fear of reprisal as long as I'm not destroying other peoples property of rights. I have had oppourtunity and have worked worked worked hard to get ahead. I am not white and have overcome all obsticals. I do not want reparatipons and think that is so much bullshit.
I may not be the brightest person on the planet but I do feel and live free. If you do not, I suggest you move to Sweeden or Canada or someplace you think is free and the people have liberty.
The beauty of the USA is simple. NO ONE WILL STOP YOU FROM LEAVING YOU HAVE THE LIBERTY TO LEAVE AND THE FREEDOM TO MOVE YOUR ASS OUT.
THATS LIBERTY THATS FREEDOM THATS AMERICA

Why don't you move to nice friendly Military Dictatorship?
It would be more in keeping with the views you espouse.
You certainly do not appear to have read any of the writings of the founders of this nation.

Why should I move to a military dictatorship? America is becoming one now! I get hard whenever I think about how Ashcroft is taking away more and more civil liberties.

I can see you are a brilliant thinker. Just what in my above post is the view of a military dictatorship.
You and your ilk are the trash complaining about lack of freedom and liberty in the USA. You have shit for brains. You are no doubt a looser who never worked for a living.
You want to destroy America and accuse everyone who does not think like an idiot of being a co-conspirator with W in a plot to take over the world.
The fact remains you have the liberty abd freedom to leave America that is not a trait of a Military Dictatorship.

Wow. Another Weak Respublic moron graces us with its presence.
Save your retarded rhetoric, dickweed.
I know your pathetic type well, by know. ZItty, pasty cowards, one and all. Go complain to your fat, ticklike wife, we don't care.
You're right, you aren't the smartest person on the planet. You're one of the dumbest and ignorant, that's why exude such ignorance.
You have the liberty and freedom thanks to people standing up the our government's fascist tendencies. You should be thanking us, instead you mock and scorn.
Seriously . . . leave America. Go to Columbia, Guatemale, El Salvador, or one of the other little neo-nazi regimes the US has set up. You would love it there. If anyone stands up to the government, they are massacred by the tens of thousands. If you try to form a union, you are killed. If you try to improve education or health care, you are killed. Go. Now. Seriously.
Oh, and try to wack me, and I'll kick your ass.

"THE STAND"
I read in the news, how you made a stand,
you marched in the streets of our country's land,
trying to say who is wrong or right,
telling our country they should not fight;
Marching against Marines, like me, here,
defending the rights you hold so dear,
assuming I love to kill and maim,
acting like this is some sort of game;
You call yourselves experts on what we should do,
on September eleventh, where were you,
while thousands of Americans suffered and died,
are you trying to say this is something you can abide?
Were you at the funerals as they lowered the caskets,
maybe you should remove your rose colored glasses?
I so, want to feel the comforts of my home,
where recently I left my family alone,
yet I'll do my duty in this far off land,
so you can march on Washington and make your stand;
Do not despise me for what I do,
because truth be known, I do it for you,
to hopefully free you from terror's arm,
so you can have your freedoms, free from harm;
What is the price, for the life you live?
What is the payment you have to give?
Is it starring in a movie, or singing a good song,
that has kept you free for all this long?
It is men like me, and others too,
doing what our country calls us to do,
sailing the seas to this far off land,
while you stay at home and make your stand;
I am not bitter, this is the life I choose,
So the rights you express so freely, you will not lose,
You may not support me for what I do,
But you need to know, I do it for you;
When this is over, when we are through,
I would rather you just say, thank you,
for giving you, the time you had,
to march in our streets and make your stand.

These liberals will never know nor understand, that more than a million heavily armed and highly trained American troops are all that stand between these loudmouths and despotism.

that was very touching. I think we need to re-evaluate what we are doing on the streets of LA.
Thanks for the kind words, sir. Thank you for fighting for my freedom.
